I'm trying to find a shop in Houston, Texas area to color match the black trim on my car. Polestar if you are listening,
you should sell the trim pieces from factory color matched!
They do, if you order the BST version ;)

Any body shop that knows what they are doing can colour coordinate the trim pieces. Won't be cheap as they'll have to get rid of that texture first ;)

Went to one body shop yesterday and got a quote for $3200.00 US. So I’m still getting quotes . I don’t mind spending the money, but it has to be like it came straight from the factory. A lot of body shops say that they can’t warranty the work because its plastic and it’s hard for the paint to bond. I asked my Polestar Space salesman where do they send customers cars for paint and body work and I called them and they told me the same thing. So I’m still trying to find a good shop. The trim is not hard to take off, the cladding on the doors may be a problem. I don’t want to brake them.

It’s all very easy to take off. I think those body shops are just honest. First they have clean, clean, clean. Then they have to sand them down to get that texture off it. Then prep, plastic prime, and paint. There is no guarantee it’s an exact match.

Alternative route would be to buy the BST parts and paint them. It’s still metal vs plastic paint. All my trim off and ceramic coated. I was going to have them painted but my paint guy got COVID and the wrap guys couldn’t wait and I couldn’t find another shop that could fit me in. I’m actually glad I didn’t get them done.

but even when they look clean that textured plastic holds and hides the dirt. It was hard work that I ended up having to do myself :(

You should hear all the excuses I’m getting when getting quotes. Oh the car is not in the system, we might break clips taking them off, we can’t guarantee the paint is gonna stick. So it is what it is. Order my rims though.

I’d go to the same place your dealership is sending the collision repairs because they’ll have more experience with how everything is attached and will get the clips if broken.
If they’re telling you paint can’t stick to plastic they are lying, but they are probably trying to actually warn you that they don’t want to cover stone chip damage.
You have to insist that all the parts are sanded, do not allow them to just sand pre-coat because you’ll see the texture. Make sure primer is used. After the clear coat has cured, apply a ceramic treatment.
