Amp Setting for Granny Charging

Depending on where you are plugged in, you should throttle the amps via the car. For instance, if you are plugged into a circuit that is not dedicated to the car, there may be other draws on the circuit and you could overload it. That could cause unnecessary heating or blow the breaker. In that case, turn the car down to 10A or turn off everything else on that circuit. If you have a dedicated 15A circuit for charging then you can let the charger automatically throttle the draw to 12A (80% of 15).
