As of today, Android Auto is available in your Polestar 2, you need to plug a cable in to your USB-C media port for full Android Auto support. If you go into your app and click on the centre icon (Spotlight icon) at the bottom of the screen, it has just been released today. More information is in the Spotlight post.

Yep. I just jumped up and tried it like a puppy greating their owner.... Since someone above mentioned it. After I tried it I thought about that. I don't have too many issues with the way things are now. Will be interesting what it brings as an advantage.

Confused by this. Only late model 2024 cars? But the website shows that this is also applicable for earlier cars.

@hvidal , what's the source of your screenshot?

And did anyone in the US get the 3.3.16 OTA update?

This is what the Polestar website states:

"Polestar continuously develops the systems in its vehicles and the services you are offered. Updating the software in your vehicle can give you access to many new functions and improvements. The vehicle's software can be updated to the latest version via Over-the-Air (OTA) or in connection with service at an authorized Polestar workshop. You will be informed in the center display when new software is available via Over-the-Air (OTA). Go to the app view, then "Settings" (icon), "System" and "Software update" to see the current software version. "

So appears to be an OTA

My Waze was flaky again this morning. It wouldn't open and said I needed to Refresh which of course did nothing. I typically get it working again by opening it on my phone, setting a destination, then trying to open it again on the car's screen.

If nothing else, AA gives us options when the cars native AAOS is flaky.

Seems universal, I had to also reset my tcam this morning to get the car to talk to the app again. Of course this happens when we get more cold and snow.

Yeah, I find it a bit frustrating I can't get plex\plexamp in AAOS and there's no native USB drive support but other than that I use my car as a car and the infotainment is a minor nuisance I occasionally have to interact with. The only argument I can see for AA support is that owners another 5-10 years could find themselves high and dry if Google pulls the rug on supporting AAOS and you need another way of getting google maps etc to work.

i see no difference in using ABRP vs. using google maps.
There was a time when ABRP was very valuable, but GM has now gotten to the point where ABRP is not necessary. And I agree that the ABRP in AAOS is so heavy that it's just about unusable for a trip with more than a couple of charging stops.

a mail app could've been greyed out as any browser in AAOS, but instead it's simply not there.
I wouldn't hold my breath for a mail app that has to be greyed out. There is no way to monetize an app like that for a car. Even things like the weather app can't push ads the same way they can on your phone.

Meh. CarPlay works well enough for that. I wouldn’t mind Netflix. Amazon Prime is fine for waiting around but Netflix (at least in Canada) has more things I want to watch.

(Of course I don’t want an Apple Music app to be unavailable for those who would like to have it—just expressing a personal preference). Ideally, both would be available.
