Just found this. If folks want to play with the P*2 interface, check:

Access that from a smartphone and you can download it as a web app - in iOS, Safari gives instructions on how to do that. Then you can play around with the interface, plus an easter egg accessed via what would be the 360-degree cam.

It's nearly as good as sitting in the real thing!

ok this is amazing!! ill be playing with this for the rest of the night.
Does anyone know if they've published the API details so I can write my own app with access to the car's info? I'd love to make a charging app that shows kW, but I suspect that's out of reach...
Thank you, that's very helpful!
I've tried to download this but I just get a 'top level' black screen with white text and icons to press which don't go anywhere. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Try changing the video renderer selected in the settings - mine didn't work initially. Open the emulator, click on the triple dot at the bottom of the icon list on the right, click on Settings, click on Advanced, and then in the drop-down list try different settings. This is what I have:

Oh, I see... following that link just doesn't go anywhere apart from white text on a black background :(

You can download the actual emulator from here: Pure progressive performance | Polestar

I've managed to get a noddy "Hello world" app running under the Polestar emulator, which is quite fun :) I've just spotted that this car information is available...

Could it be that I can create an app that actually shows the kW charge rate...!? o_O 🤯

Of course, having a car would be helpful. But, baby steps...

You need to get cracking @rgledhill - you'll never have time to do it after the car is delivered!

I have about 8-9 weeks to learn how to write Apps in Java or Kotlin, then migrate them to Android Automotive, and then get the data from the Polestar simulator! Never written apps before but been doing software for nearly 40 years... how hard can it be? ;)
Answer: really annoying to set up. Stuff just doesn't work, examples online miss out crucial steps to getting the first things up and running  Still, I've signed up for a Udacity.com training course in Kotlin development for Android to kickstart things. Got to get stuck in!

ps it also looks like actual tyre pressures might be available too...

I wonder if we will eventually see Android DVR apps for the car cameras, and other fun third party software

Have you thought how to get the app onto the Polestar other than through the play store?
That is the issue - there is no way at all to get the app onto the car at the moment.
You can set yourself up as a beta tester for apps on the Play Store and use it via a direct link, but I haven't tried that yet. Something to explore on the emulator I guess.
I tried to open a web page in the car and download the APK, but no success so far... I managed to open my web page with the download link, but then nothing happened. So more work is needed to get custom apps to the car.... I wanted to build a a simple app to push the state of charge to my server to bridge the Time until the app is ready....

How did you manage to open a web page?
Weird way out of desperation :) I had to wait for an hour last week to pick someone up, and there was no cellphone reception, I was "offline". But the car was not, so I tried my way around:

Go to profile
Create new profile
search for a small link to "data protection information"
it will open a web view somewhere. Go to "FAQ".
type in some random letters, make sure its not a word in the FAQ
it will say "nothing found. Search with google web?" - Click yes, and you are on the Google Search page.

Its far from perfect, I know.... I am still looking for a better web view. But a start. There must be at least one with javascript etc... enabled. It is visible when you get the car and set up the cellphone connection. I remember that this one was able to check the form. This one should be able to run YouTube and the rest...
