Had phone returned from repair and started reinstalling apps from the Android Play store. When I went to install Audible, I checked the devices it could be installed on and Polestar was listed.
Finally!

Went totally the car to log in... and it flashed up a message that I was logging into Amazon.de.
Doh!
I have bought from Amazon.de but as its not my Audible account, when I logged in it didn't list any of my audiobooks.

Please can anyone who uses German Audible checked to see if it is working for you?

Would love to get this working from the car rather than linking my phone.

Edit:
Corrected as it is available in more areas than Germany. I didn't get the option to choose locale when I logged in but there is an option to change it, but only on the login screen.

I installed it this afternoon (US). It works nicely, but two limitations will probably frustrating frustrate me in short order:
A) it doesn’t appear to allow you to download books to the car (when road tripping through rural area with poor cell coverage that could be annoying)
B) You get one long list with every book in your Audible library. No ability to filter on recently listened to, not yet started, hide books you’ve read, etc.

Hopefully the filtering of your library will come quickly as they update the app. 🤞

OK so I've corrected the title as it is available for users using:
.com
.com.au
.ca
.fr
.de
.in
.it
.co.jp
.es
.co.uk

I didn't get the option to select locale when I set it up, maybe too eager on the logging in to spot it.
But you can manually select the marketplace locale at the bottom of the login screen.

Works for me in the US! This is a really big deal for me because Audible was the one missing app that I use all the time and It was a little bit annoying running it over bluetooth. It will be interesting to see how it holds up streaming without downloading the titles.

I still wish they would just turn on Android Auto and let us run whatever we want on our phones. My phone is so much faster than the car infotainment and it also has tons of storage and all of my downloaded media.

In case anyone has a large Audible library, the AAOS version seems to have a limit on how many audiobooks it'll show on the library page. I've had to archive completed audiobooks on the phone app to be able to see the ones I've not yet listened to in the car.

Great to see the app has made it over to AAOS, but it needs a bit of work.

I also road-tripped yesterday and realized how annoying it is that in the quadrant view, they didn’t use the 15 or 30 jump back button. Seems that the Google Maps instructions manage to speak up at key dramatic moments and then you have to tap through 3 screens to get to the jump buttons

I've contacted Audible via the Play store email contact and after the 3rd email, got through to someone who actually knew the AAOS app existed. They've stated....

I would like to inform you that, after signing in Audible app on your Android Automotive Operating System, currently you can see only 50 tiltles. We are trying to increase the number of titles, so that you can see more titles. However, I cannot provide any time-frame when this might happen.

Further, I would like to inform you that if you choose Audiobooks or Podcasts only to display on your screen by tapping on the Audibooks or Podcasts option at the bottom of the screen. You can also find following controls in the player screen of app:

1) Skip forward/backward 30 seconds

2) Pause/Play

3) Jump forward/backward by chapter
