Been scoping out the scene here for a little bit. I was wondering if anyone had a rough idea on how long it takes from receiving the "Your Polestar is on its way" email to getting the contract to finalise the order? I received the previous email about two and a bit weeks ago if that is any help. Whilst I am happy to wait, I'm just too keen to get into the car 😅.

Thought I'd also say hello, have been reading the forums for a while. Received the "we're starting to build your car" on the 17th Nov and "Your Polestar is on its way" on the 19th November. No updates since. Delivery still says "February", hopefully it will be a little earlier 🤞

Whilst I still hold out hope for receiving an email tomorrow, I'm starting to reside in the reality that it may be more so December as to when we find out more. Would make my week if I did receive that email 😂

Received the same email on the 6th November, nothing since.

Morning Cherry and Morning Crystal both arrive in Port Kembla this week, and based on previous advice the "set sail" email arrives the day before the ship does, so there may be some communication this week. Don Juan has been and gone, so it wasn't that one and Paganella is due 10/12.

I have my suspicions mine (the batch mine is in) might be on the Paganella. Thanks a tonne for this information however!

Morning Cherry is off Port Kembla this morning, so I think we can say it's not the one. Paganella continues its south pacific jaunt, currently off Auckland.

Any NZ owners been notified their car has arrived?

I could be reading this wrong but the port authority has both the Morning Cherry and the Morning Crystal docking Saturday and Sunday at Port Kembla?

Then your vehicle is unlikely to have left China. There was a data error earlier in the year that some didn’t really get update emails, they got the set sail email just before the ship arrived, but for everyone else they get the email 2-4 days after the ship leaves Shanghai

Definitely puts it into perspective, looks like a couple more weeks of waiting 😅

There are quite a few who never got any emails at all, I have had my car 6 weeks and still no set sail email has been received... I wouldn't put any faith in actually receiving the email, it might not even happen.

I suppose that then begs the question, how did you know that it was in the country?

few of us got that email in November, i believe Max & Nordic got it first week and i got mine on the 11th. We are all still waiting for the Set Sail email. I think we were all Feb deliveries. You will probably get a good idea of timeline once ours are shipped.

Oh so true. I think it is fair to say we are all hoping for it to be at least within Australia by the end of December. However with the end of year/holiday season that might unfortunately kick it into early Jan for a mid to late Jan collect. Again all speculation till we get an email, if we get one 😅

Currently my timeline is as follows:

Order placed 25/07
Order confirmed 8/8 (little hazy on that part)
Car started production 4/11
Car rolled off production line 6/11
Set sail .... Nil (will update here once gotten)

Update 16/12/22
Received "login to finalise your Polestar 2 order"
Still no set sail (assuming it was either missed or yet to come since they seem to coincide together

Update 17/12/22
Received "Meet your new Polestar 2"
(Still no set sail, I am wondering if it will be sent when the ship gets closer to Australia...)

"Set Sail" and "Finalise Your Order" received yesterday. Jumped on to finalise order and they still have Sydney as handover location, despite assurances it would be changed (to Canberra - I'm NSW but just over the ACT border). Sent a request for handover to be changed to Canberra as per previous correspondence. Received the hurry up email today, handover location still not changed but I confirmed anyway. Worst case is I get to drive it home from Sydney.

On a positive note, delivery changed from February to January.

If the "set sail" arrives a few days after the ship has departed, then Viking Passama departed Shanghai 30/11, so that timeline fits. Due into Port Kembla 22/12.

I know, I wasn't going to dwell on that thought but yeah. Not sure if the email chain is slow in letting me know or if location for delivery changes things. I am curious nonetheless 😂😅. With my curiosity growing, what time did you happen to receive the email Max_Mason?

Turns out on that topic it was actually built the same day . Rechecked when I received the email notifications. Ah well, time will tell.

I received the "confirm your order" on Friday at 5.02pm and the "set sail" on Saturday at 11.10 am.

Hopefully the sytem is just slow to get your emails. Have you checked your order page, any changes there?

Small update, my estimated delivery has now slipped from February to March. I would assume this giving generous time for it to logistically make it to Brisbane. Others may be in the same boat?

Yup. I remember it was all over the place. Some people had the accurate dates and for some people they (Polestar) missed the dates completely. All we have learnt is to not rely on those dates and get too bothered by them as they can change at any time and we have no idea when it might happen.

No truer words spoken. My delivery date has now changed (yet again) to January 😂. These changes could give one whiplash...

In saying that, let's hope the recent string of imported vehicle biohazards doesn't affect polestar otherwise might be waiting more 😂.

Anyone know if the biosecurity quarantine issues are affecting Polestar?

Last I saw it was only Mazda, MG, Nissan and Volkswagen that have confirmed they are affected.

You would hope that by now they have a more streamlined process in place but be what it may. Might be the government bodies that take the time, not Polestar.

Update on my situation. Got the email to finalise my purchase so I am extremely confident the Don Juan has her safely onboard. Haven't received the "Set Sail" email however received the "Meet Your New Polestar 2" 🤷‍♂️.

So now all I can do is get my ducks in a row for, I am assuming, a mid to late January delivery (possibly early Feb depending on registration etc). Not going to lie, rather crap time of year to organise finance 😂.

A question for those that have received their Polestar, how long did it take to get the invoice for the vehicle? Considering most of the other things I need to do required that 😂...

No I haven't 😂. I got my deposit back today/invoice so I am 100% certain it's on a ship 😅.

Viking Passama is sitting off Port Kembla, scheduled to dock at 3am tomorrow (23rd).

How long after she is unloaded will the VIN appear on CEVA?

From memory, other comments have said that it takes usually between 3-4 days to get into the CEVA network 🤷‍♂️. But then again that could be different if they need to be "debugged" before being released.
