Might be a little crazy but I investigate port authorities as to when ships are might to arrive. At this very moment Port Kembla port authority doesn't have Don Juan listed as arriving but rather it's transshipment vessel Thermopylae.
That is impressively nerdy. Well done!

Thermopylae gets to see quite a bit of the world, doesn’t she?

As of now the Armacup website is still showing Don Juan coming to Port Kembla, but they only update that page weekly on Fridays…

Hmm, yeah I was on 03/12 -- bit weird that our ETAs are a month apart. Oh well, on with the anxious waiting.
My understanding of Nordic_R’s post is that if my car was scheduled for 12 Feb and yours for 17 Feb, I would see “Feb” and you would see “Mar”

So I wouldn’t freak out too much… he says, waiting anxiously himself :)

ok, so there are three kinds of charging:

Level 1: Unplug your kettle and plug the car in instead. Your car comes with a cable for this. Very slow, but if your car does 30km/day commuting, might be all you need.

Level 2: Home charging and slow destination charging (7-22kW). You might find one of these chargers at a shopping centre or tourist spot. Great to top up while you do the shopping. Terrible if you’re trying to get from Sydney to Coffs in a hurry. The car can only take on 11kW through these chargers, even if they anre rated at 22kW. Often these chargers do not have a cable, and the car does not come with one.

Level 3: DC Fast Charging. 50kW - 350kW. These have their own built-in cables, and these are the chargers you’re after while you’re en route. No need for a cable.

Most people don’t neeeeed a cable for a level 2 charger, but it’s very handy to have and the 3rd party ones are way cheaper than the Polestar branded ones. Haven’t heard any complaints about cables from reputable suppliers like EVSE. If you do buy one, get a cable that can do the full 11kW the car can handle (it will be a 22kW cable) rather than saving $30 by going with the 7kW one.

Also rather pessimistic on the level 1 charging. Overnight on a standard GPO will easily give you 100 - 150km depending DM or SM and driving style.
Yeah... you're right. I kinda discounted because if you're doing say 100km/day you have to be much more diligent than I am about always plugging in and if you miss a day you probably need to go find a DC charger at some point.

For me, personally, I don't expect to need anything other than a Level 1 / regular 10 amp plug. And I suspect that most other people don't either.

Oooh, if my eyes don’t deceive me, Don Juan has just appeared on the Port Kembla site with a 3 Jan arrival.
Looks like Don Juan is now scheduled to dock this Thu 12 Jan, with Morning Crystal following a day later on Fri 13 Jan. Lucky for some?

With Turandot (18/1) and Morning Cherry (19/1) due next week, it looks like it might be a busy time for Polestar :D
