I understand that if I set a charging stop along the route to my final destination, then the Polestar will precondition the battery so that upon arrival at the charging stop, the car can ramp up quickly to a fast KW charge session. But will the car precondition the battery if I set a charging location as my final destination (e.g., if I were to say "Hey Google, navigate me to the Electrify America in Cherry Hill NJ")? I took a long trip in my Polestar this past weekend (D.C. to Rhode Island and back), and found that the in-vehicle app would not pick the best places to stop and charge; I think it is because the vehicle consistently over-estimates the power requirements to go from Point A to Point B. So I would plan my route via ABRP, and then just tell the vehicle to navigate me to the next charging location. But I could not tell if doing so deprived me of the benefit of preconditioning. Any thoughts?
