I would not be happy if I bought a BST thinking it’s limited as they marketed it. They should of just aim it as a different limit run, like the artic circle car or something.

In all seriousness ,they should start selling the springs and strut bars to performance pack cars separately.

Oh? It wasn’t communicated so I have no idea if it’s possible in Canada.

Yeah, it appears Nebula is Volvo's Sage Green. No real surprise there, since it's built on the same production line as the C40 and XC40, and Sage Green seems reasonably popular for those two. So it's not a huge lift for Polestar to make a run in that color, or introduce it as a new color across the lineup. They've also had this car kicking around for a little while. It's been seen at the HQ a number of months ago, and was at one of the BST track events in Spain during the summer.

Oh nice! I like the colour. Give me BMW's fashion grey vibes.

The suede/nubuk is a nice touch but very obvious they just picked from parts bin from Volvo for the seats (it’s a dust magnet).

I hope it gets to hand who people want to enjoy the car. Seen too many post about resale value etc. This ain’t a Porsche, heck it doesn’t even hold value like BMWs.

Absolutely, it is good there is a choice. And colour preference is a very personal thing. I still find it an interesting (in the UK sense of the word) choice, almost certainly targetting a certain demographic. Not a colour you'd see on the modified car, nor performance car scenes typically. But I'm sure they've done their market research based upon buyer demographic from Volvo.
I beg to differ! This colour again is very reminiscent of BMW’s Fashion grey where’s I describe it as milk tea and Nebula being matcha latte. 🍵

This feels like such a hard sell. It's roughly $81k in the US, where a fully loaded, all packs, and even the leather, gets you to $71k. So it's $10k for paint and a marginally improved suspension....when the MY24 with actual improved performance is looming?

You gotta REALLY want that sage green and/or the partial nubuck interior.

I just don't get why they didn't tie this in with the release of the MY24 cars, and make it based off of that, rather than MY23.
Exactly this. The Brembos and Ohlins on performance is absolutely great and it’s most evident on track but what the % of owners doing that?

It’s a niche to nichest esp when it’s an EV. The BST lacks enough justification to be charging more.

I wish they gone even more. Charge 100k but take the rear seats out and put a rollcage In it. The car needs less weight to be proper performance machine. I love to see a BMW CSL or AR GTAm level limited edition that absolutely push the limit of what PS2 can be.

But again this is a young brandthat still trying to figure it out.

Perhaps, but in some markets, they can already order the MY24 cars, so they'd consciously be choosing a higher priced, lower performing, vehicle simply for the color if they went with Nebula/Sage Green.

For the NA market, these cars would be getting delivered alongside the newly arrived MY24 Performance cars, which will be a bit of a slap to the face, seeing your $81k car next to a TBD cheaper car.

Plus, over on the various Polestar related Facebook groups it's pretty clear that people are confused that it's not actually a MY24 car. So I suspect some people may jump to order not realizing that the car is actually a MY23, with no changes to the battery and motors.
There will def be last min cancellations/reruns like the 270 where people don’t understand what they are purchasing.

:ROFLMAO: Can't stand Fashion Grey either. To me that is unfashionable grey, give me Hockenheim Silver any day for a nice youthful and cheery grey.
Well, that's why I pay extra for Magnesium :sneaky:

This is why nobody bought the LFA.
It was more expensive and slower then everything else, but then people understod that there are other things actually more important on a car that the LFA had instead!
But too late, they didnt build them anymore!
Its all about how it FEELS to drive!
There are no specsheets for that!
I find it hard that you are comparing LFA with PS2s. Commercially it a flop due to the price tag but it’s popularity continue to grow and value has double for some.

It was never design to sale.People who buy this ain’t daily driving it.

If anything, I would compare the LFA to the P1. Both were too expensive and the manufacturers struggled to sell the very limited inventory. Both received stellar reviews by the automotive press and neither of them were numbers cars. The BST has received lukewarm reviews. I think of it as a BMW i4 m50 competitor.
P1 is a great car and should age wonderfully. I would buy it if I had the extra cash but IMHO not in the same prestige league as LFA. LC500 is more comparable (and that also a gorgeous car). Also, LFA is individually numbered plagued (at the back seat) if that's what you mean.

Polestar 2 Performance and BST on-track times are identical. The problem for both cars is the power-to-weight ratio as it already has good chassis. i4 M50 performs worse than both by a margin. Check here if interested to read more.

Personally, I don't think any of the current electric cars are "track cars". Just because someone can get a single or three good laps of a car does not make it a track car. I wouldn't want to spend 2 hours on a track with any of them. For now, I will stick with my ICE car for track days.

So if they are not track cars, then they are performance street cars, IMO. The BMW is faster to 60 than the Polestar. Not the definitive measurement of a performance car, but still a performance measure. They are about the same price. So I put them in the same category. Which is the better all rounder? I don't know. Hopefully I will drive the BMW tomorrow.

You are right. The BST suffers from the fact that there is so little measurable difference between it and the PP car. For an additional $8k ish over the equivalent loaded P2, you get suede seats, graphics, and a fancier suspension. Is it worth it? I will let you know when it arrives.
Polestar 2 Performance can take a good beating on say a 15 min session (my experience is solely at TMP here in Ontario, Canada) and it can take the ring just fine as Misha on YT famously demonstrates. But I agree with you, EV isn't the regular "track car" as it inherently has limitations different from an ICE and that is the battery so I say it's fair to judge it in its own category.

With that said, Tesla Model 3 with chassis mods is the best trackable EV. Its lap times can compete with Porsche 911 GT3 on a corner-heavy track. I think the time attack format is perfect for EVs. Japan also have their own EV race events, though in its infant stage but it's nice to see it happen.

If you have a BST on order congrats! Enjoy it and do share :)
