Yes, it’s a bug and is listening to itself. Basically renders Siri via CarPlay useless.

 

I half expected that to be the answer but was hoping it wouldn’t be. Ho humm add to the list of annoying bugs

 

I'm on the latest iOS 26 beta and it seems to be behaving itself at the moment, touch wood.

By the way, iOS 26 releases on Monday, so really no point in installing the beta now if you haven't already.

 

Ah yes, im on the beta as well, so if no one else was having the issue i was going to put it down to that. But given its working for you, im now even more confused haha!

 

You could try enabling Settings > Accessibility > Siri > Require Siri for Interruptions

That means Siri won't interrupt itself unless it actually hears the word Siri.

 

Same problem on P3, but also can’t use microphone for calls.
