Sorry to hear this. The 20s can definitely be a problem. The lower the tire profile, the more exposed the rim is to damage. The PP 20s are cast vs. forged for the non-PP 20s. That might make them a little stronger.

It’s not the lack of subsidies in the UK that is cause of the high fuel price but the actual taxation on fuel. At least they have now made it froze it to 58p a litre since 2009. USA has historically been a low tax nation. Even if you take the federal tax and state fuel taxes in California which is the highest you only pay 67 cents on a gallon, so we pay basically 4 times that lol.
Yes, but we also subsidize big oil as well.

Which also gives us the issue of replacing all of that tax revenue when we all go electric. US doesn't have as big an issue.
They are already discussing this here. Some states want to tax EVs since they don't pay the gas taxes. Of course in the end it will wind up being a cluster-F since once any law maker or their brother-in-law starts driving an EV, they'll never be able to raise taxes on EVs. We'll have a race to the bottom on how much (or little as the case may be) we can do with no taxes at all. We'll all be driving EVs as the roads crumble beneath us.

University Volvo called - they are driving the loaner P*2 to me, and then I'll take the gentleman to the train station so he can take the train back.

I asked if there was any limit to the amount I could drive it - I drive about 60 miles on an average work day - they said no limit. (y)

Curious what the SOC will be when it gets here - it's 114 miles away.

Unsucessful string pulling to get the replacement rim sooner, so could still be a week or two before I see my car again.
I think you can't complain no matter what the charge is in the car.

They are charging me for the rim, tire mounting, balance and a full alignment - they said they will charge my credit card when it is delivered. Should be about $900 per an estimate they gave me a while back on the phone.

They asked me multiple times if I want the old rim, and I have answered in the affirmative each time, asking them to put it in the trunk. We'll see if they remember...
When you sell your house you'll be trying to figure out what to do with it 😆

Got my car back ($916 and some change) - I asked the driver to park the loaner beside mine for a photo before he left since I haven't seen two side by side yet.

Drives well so far, but there is a software update pending...

I also didn't have a chance to look at the cracked rim yet (they did remember to bring it). Hopefully will have a chance tomorrow.

So any thoughts on the ride of the 20s vs the 19s?
