FitcamX owners beware - There are a few users of these cams that have reported recordings have stopped when the memory card is full. You'll have to check and delete the videos\format the card to get the records to save again.

I've reported this issue back in Aug, Oct, and again last night to Fitcamx, each time I received a new firmware but same result. Will install the latest firmware tonight and monitor.

Support has been lacking. Don't be stuck in a situation where you need cam footage but find out the dashcam has stopped recording.
Their latest reply is attached, I didn't know I was "long-term testing" of their product, I expected a working product when I paid for it. I'm using the memory card that came with the cam, that may or may not be the issue, but their response is to screenshot a random reddit post and for users to go out and purchase a new memory card.

I'll reiterate here that the card I got with my FitcamX was crap. It also stopped recording at some point but I'm not sure if it was when it was trying to overwrite or something. It was a nonissue because I had planned to replace it anyway with a better quality card and as near as I can tell I'm now at ~4 months with recording still working.

How good is Fitcamx customer service? I purchased a Fitcamx for my Polestar 2 in July and let it set in the box until today. When I finally got around to installation, I found that the housing attachments did not match the Polestar slots and the part of the camera housing that slides into the cover behind the rearview mirror was substantially wider than the opening. Email was sent today asking for a replacement.

I fitted my Fitcam some months ago and have almost forgotten about it as I've been fortunate not to have to need the footage but came across this thread so thought I would check if everything is still OK. Fortunately mine all appears to be working as expected, even with the 'no-name' 64GB card fitted (it did have a brand on it but can't remember exactly what it was). I was going to update the firmware as I generally like to be on top of these sorts of things but in this case I think I'll just let it do its stuff but will check a little more frequently.

Just an FYI for anyone who can get the China version since it’s much cheaper, they work just fine with our cars. I had the 4K version with 1080p reverse camera brought over to Canada from China. Sold by fitcam on taobao. Came to $171cad ($127usd) which includes the 128gb Samsung card. Didn’t come with the quick connect Y-cable. The fuse taps didn’t fit so I had to buy and splice in micro2 fuse taps. Works just fine with FitDVR app, it actually doesn’t know the difference that I’m using the China version of the camera.

I don't know if this against the forum rules or not. Just saying to all UK peps who are looking to purchase Fitcamx, I am selling mine. New 4K front, HD back.
Reason for sale, got it as a gift, don't like to add things that are not original (crazy I know)

I added a post in the sale section if someone is interested
Thanks!!

I fitted the FitcamX three months ago, but only the front camera. About a month ago I had the rear camera fitted by a very competent chap who did a great job. Since having it fitted I notice my DAB radio reception has become very flaky, dropping out in areas I know worked just fine before the camera was fitted. Strange thing is, exactly the same thing happened with my Jaguar F Pace when I fitted the rear camera, this was a Nextbase camera though. Anyone else had similar?

Funny, but i noticed a drop in my FM radio reception 20min ago as well but didn't clue into this until i read your comment. This is at the underground parking lot of my work. As it's concrete, there always has been a drop in reception regardless of vehicle. With the Polestar 2, there would be a drop in reception but it was strong enough to listen to still. Radio reception completely died just now as I entered the parkade.

Also an FYI, you cannot purchase and add the rear cam later. The dual cam has a different chipset. So if you want the front (a DIY) and think you may want the rear one at some point (for many will be better to find an installer), get the pair and install the front first.

And to utilize parking mode, instead of using the y-connector that comes with the cam, you need to buy and install the fuse box cable: FITCAMX Fuse Box Cable for Volvo (Micro2 Size)

What's the evidential footage like from these fit cams? Saw a very interesting video the other day about various dashcams, and how pretty much most brands are all reusing the same sensors and firmware.
But the big focus was on quality, some of them you couldn't even get a decent plate read on, let alone at night!

I get that the fitcam looks nice and OEM, but is the footage any good when you need it?

Hi FitcamX users My P2 was delivered yesterday and due to a previous car incident , whilst parked, at the hospital I work at , I am keen to know a couple of things.
Have any of you had the unfortunate need for parking mode to kick in and work? If so how reliable was it?
Also is there a big drain on the car battery using parking mode (there seems confusion on the dozens of posts I've read about on impact or continuous feed/drain).
As long as it records on impact (e.g. some idiot reversing into me) and doesn't drain whilst sat then I'm happy.
Just making sure before I push the button and order one.
Thanks all.

Will depend of course upon your settings (resolution esp) and size of the memory card.

I have mine on the defaults with 2K resolution and 3:00 minute clips, and each clip is ~330mb. Rough math (64x1024/330x3=595) makes that 595 minutes of stored video on a 64GB but pulling the SD and checking it on a laptop will be more exact.

I noticed that my Fitcamx continues recording almost 6 minutes after I park the car and lock it.
This is only if I did not connect the car to the charger. If I connect the car to a charger then the corresponding time is only around 2 minutes, which is somehow weird!
Anyone else noticed this?

My Fitcamx just arrived.
Q: Do I need to unplug the 12v battery before connecting the dashcam or turn off the car via the tablet is enough?

I never turned anything "off," just installed it and everything worked well.

Had mine fitted professionally last week(don't trust myself around anything electric 😄) and I have to say so far so good.
The picture quality is superb (I went for 4k model with rear 1080p) and I ramped the park sensor up to high the moment I got it back.
Kept all other setting to medium and am going to test it out this weekend . (Give the car a soft nudge etc)
Overall the fit and non intrusive style is a win for me

Please tell me how well the parking mode works. I bought the same setup but didn’t install the parking cable yet.
