I get that feeling too! Hopefully with multiple owner's having this issue and reporting, at least one or some might get through 🤞
Agree - I submitted my complaint - response was make an appointment with the space. No thanks. Polestar can fix this with a software update - everyone’s foot well lights stopping - at essentially the same time isn’t a hardware issue. If I really cared I’d reset the infotainment to scratch and reinstall but I ain’t got time for that nonsense. However I do miss seeing my wife’s lovely feet on our evening drives.

I decided to send Polestar a message last weekend to see if the Customer Services team have any updates with this light issues. I explained that many owners have reported this issue and it appears to be software related with some owners taking the car in where the workshop failed to fix it.

As anticipated I get a canned response!

Good afternoon,

Thank you for getting in touch in regards to your front footwell lights no longer working. I do apologise that this has occurred for you.

I would advise you to get booked into a Volvo retailer for them to diagnose the issue and resolve this for you. Your local retailer can be found via the link below:

I can only imagine that Polestar HQ is aware of the issue. Surely, someone who works at PS HQ has a car who’s footwell lights just took the dirt nap, also.

I imagine that this person left their very stylish and minimalist cubicle, and sauntered a across a very well lit open space to someone else sitting a reconstructed wooden desk. They then proceeded to bemoan their newfound lack of footwell lighting, and that now it’ll be nearly impossible to locate their flat-pack furniture assembly key on the floor of their car in the midday twilight of Swedish winter. Everyone was quite tall, and good looking.

I get the feeling that this is quite widespread, as well as the lights being out on ours, I’ve driven 3 other Pilot pack cars over the last 2 weeks, all running 2.2 and none with footwell lights that work.
Is it just that a lot of the newer owners have received their cars with 2.1/2.2 and so don’t know what they’re missing?

Yep, that's what I have been thinking too for new P2 owner's who received their cars with 2.1 or 2.2 are none the wiser. I don't understand how Polestar software introduce such this bug disabling the front foot well lights for non Plus pack cars.

Got an email from Polestar today asking for a short ownership satisfaction survey. Gave them full feedback in the "Comments" section. 4,000 characters worth (that was the limit) incl. the foot well lights being out since OTA 2.1. Likely nothing will happen but I will keep trying to remind Polestar of their bugs whenever I have a chance!

I received an update from Polestar CS this morning after I sent them a link to this discussion, here is an extract of the email.

Good Morning,

Thank you for your response.

This has been raised with the relevant department who will be able to investigate this further. As previously suggested, you can make a retailer booking however if this is a wider issue, we can not guarantee that they will be able to assist.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us by replying to this email or calling Polestar Support on 08000517863.

Thank you for reporting this feedback, if we receive any further information, we will get in touch.

Hopefully the lights will get fixed with a future OTA update.

I've got a LRDM no packs car delivered with 2.2 installed. No footwell lights. After speaking with Polestar, I took mine to my local Volvo garage and after overriding the car's computer they got the lights working temporarily. They've reported it to Polestar and this is what polestar said:

It is a known issue and this can be rectified by an upcoming software update. They have no date for when this update will be ready as they are currently working on it but you will receive a notification when this is available.

So peoples, sit tight and a fix will come!

I hope it comes back to life for us with 2.3 in CW37.
I hate to pay for functionality that doesn't work.
Anyway wished I stayed at 1.9, had zero issues with that version and not using CP at all.

Installed 2.3 last night, I knew the fix was not in the 2.3 update but there was a small part of me hoping they might have slipped it at the last minute and not communicated it. But sadly not the case, the footwell remain unlit ☹

Would be good if the issue is resolved soon with winter coming to the northern hemisphere.

Received my MY23, No Packs, p2.3, a couple weeks ago, first drive in the dark I felt the interior had very little light.

I spoke with CS today to ascertain what interior lighting I should have. They said I should have footwell lights, lighting around the centre console and door bin lights but I seem to have none or they are not functioning.

These lights are all listed under Interior > Interior Illumination on the Standard Features page.
Can anyone confirm for me, what lightning I should have as I’m seeing mixed messages everywhere. Is that page just wrong?

I have the MY22 no Plus pack, I do have the Pilot pack.
Cars without the plus pack doesn't have the central console lights nor door bin lights.

But your car should have the front foot well lights. These stopped working since OTA software version 2.1.

This is a photo of my car interior a couple of months after it was delivered in October 2021. There's no ambient lights in the dash, center console (gear selector) or in the phone charging pad area. But you can see the footwell lights working.

I'm glad to see there's a photo of this. I also have pilot pack (no plus pack) and the footwell lights stopped working a few months in after an OTA update.

Have reported to CS also but no sign of it getting addressed in any of the updates yet.

Hi all

just got my my23 no packs yesterday. The lights in the footwell etc are not working fir me either. I’ve already contacted polestar who want me to book it into a service centre.

Also i cant find any wheel to change the lighting intensity? Is it not present on my23’s?
