Unfortunately I also have water damage in my smart zone front area and it looks identical to the damage posted. I'm from Ontario Canada and waiting to hear back from the service center on a fix since last week.

Sorta related but I'm also getting intermittent suspension failure errors. Got it fixed last week by service who said it was due to large amounts of dirt/debris/ sand in the suspension (I imagine from all the snow melt etc sand/salt droppings)

The suspension which normally feels like driving on a cloud, instead felt like I was constantly driving over rumble strips.

Now the warmer weather is here and the water damage shows up and I've had the suspension error come back again after just washing it. It's a lovely car to drive but I don't want to have to service my car everytime some dirt gets into the wheel wells or water knocks out the sensors. I love the car and have over 11,000 km since taking delivery late November

I may have gotten the location of the label wrong 😅 Read it somewhere on Reddit, but it may be on the passenger side on the B pillar (“1” in the picture). If not there, I give up haha.

Update:

The wiring corrosion extends further into the car, there's a big issue.

They're requesting parts from p*/Volvo but neither of them will give any form of estimate - apparently the parts need to be hand made????

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if a massive recall kicks off - the fella from Volvo made it sound like they're aware of this issue spreading.

Water sealing a car in 2025 - apparently it's a tough job... 🫠

Hmm, that said location 1 on my car doesn't exactly match the location on the graphic. I mean, it's the passenger pillar and there's a sticker but it's not placed in the same spot and orientation as expected.
Thank you for being a trooper and checking 🫶🏽 I can’t decipher but I’d hoped it would be more obvious. My handover is scheduled for this Friday so I’ll ask. I also just texted my salesperson to see if the service center can pre-inspect for water ingress. I’m supposed to go there tomorrow morning to give ‘em my money so I’ll bring it up then as well. “I’d love to sign these forms and pay you but can you first tell me if there’s water damage on this $93k car? Thanks so much…”

I have the same issue as of today with error symbols and Pilot Assist malfunctioning on a two week old Polestar 3 made in Chengdu. I’ve reported to both Polestar directly and booked a service at the local dealers. It looks like this is now a widespread issue and a recall will be necessary.

What gave you this impression? Did Polestar Customer Support indicate this, or is this your personal assessment? Have all of you reported this to the NHTSA?

Apologies for my ignorance, but I’m unsure how severe an issue must be for a recall to be mandated. A serious safety risk is certainly the primary factor, but what is the threshold for action, and who makes that decision?

I’m in the UK so the NHTSA doesn’t have jurisdiction here, but what I am saying is just based upon the anecdotal comments we’re seeing here. I have reported to both Polestar and Volvo dealership who handles servicing on behalf of Polestar in this area. Although there is no visual damage like some others posting in this thread, the other symptoms seem to be the same, and a software reset doesn’t seem to improve the situation.

We haven’t had any significant rain since I’ve had the car, so hopefully it isn’t any significant water damage but the symptoms are the same, as I said. Annoyingly I am going to be away for a few weeks and the next suitable service appointment isn’t until 4th April, but I will try to update this thread with what I find out.

Aaaand with less than 24h to go my sensor repair appointment got cancelled because “parts were unavailable”. Not too impressed.
Strap in - I expect this to be the case far and wide.

My vehicle has been in for 2+ weeks now and I'm getting 0 estimations on the timeline for parts and work to be completed. I'm not sure how this is acceptable.

I'm of this belief too now - the Volvo technician seemed to think there would be a recall coming soon and that there's more of these cropping up.

What I find ridiculous is that his request for parts and an estimate was essentially denied (on the estimate front) because "they're making these in production still" - so that means they take precedence? Wtf?
