Looks like we can check status and precondition the car with simple voice commands. So far I’ve had some success and some errors.

Anyone know more about this?

Google assistant, at least on phones in the US, has been able to control the P2 for a few weeks.

From FaceBook Polestar Admin:
Hi everyone!
We have some good news: the Polestar 2 can now be controlled remotely using a compatible Google Assistant-enabled device. This means you can ask Google to remotely start climate preconditioning, tell you the car's battery status, unlock the doors, and other useful functions. Remote actions will initially be available to users in the United States, with more languages to be added soon.

If only I had learnt to speak United States when I was at school ;)

I'm guessing this isn't available in the UK yet? When I try to add a vehicle on GA, it asks for registration state (i.e. US states) and won't let me go any further. As far as I know my Google account is set up with me being in the UK.

In Aus, the app doesn't even show the option to link a car.
Now it has been publicised I expect it will not take too long for it to be localised.
I’m in US but Polestar doesn’t show up when I try to add devices to my Google Home app, any suggestions?

With Google Assistant on Apple devices, you can also add Siri Shortcuts which will launch the Google Assistant app and send the command.
Can you unlock the car too?

Not in the UK yet AFAIK but you can get it to work by setting your google assistant voice/language to US/American, then following the set up process. I had a quick play with it a couple of weeks ago and it works fine but I set it back to UK/English. I can wait.

Could you walk through how to set this up or share a shortcut as a demo? I’m having problems figuring out how I set this up.
You need to have Google Assistant installed, then on Shortcuts, you click the + icon to get going.
The google assistant will not open the windows in the car the way you can do with the old fashion key fob.

Thankfully Google Assistant is multi-lingual.
