Google voice is no longer turning the lane keeping aid off

Until yesterday I could say "Turn the lane keeping aid off" and Google would respond with "OK, turning off the lane keeping aid".

Yesterday it responded with "Sorry, I cannot control that in this car". I repeated the command and got the same response. Same today, it cannot control that in this car.

I rebooted the infotainment, did a TCAM soft reset (demister button) and cleared the assistant cache to no avail.

I can still control the climate and music using voice.

Any idea how I fix this? Its a pita going through the menus to turn it off every time.

Same here! It’s more than a pity that we are forced to do this manually as it requires 30 seconds loss of attention to the road! LKA can’t be left on as it dangerously fails to drive around cyclists and UK potholes. I thought the idea of Euro NCap was to make cars safer! I prefer to take responsibility for my own driving rather than cede it to an imperfect machine! I wonder when we will be treated as adults and be allowed a one button nanny state kill switch?

In some way I'm glad its not just me. It is bloody annoying though. Maybe it's been turned off via a Google Assistant app update then. I've asked Polestar support but not had a response yet.

I honestly never turn that off. I find that it "unlocks" when using the blinkers, which is what I do anyway if I have to move aside for e.g. a cyclist and would cross a line in that manoeuvre.
It does indeed turn off when you indicate however I've managed to survive the last 40 odd years driving without sideswiping anyone so I'm not sure why I should have it imposed on me now. And as Derek said, its more of a distraction to turn it off via the screen️.
