Anyone here having issues with hot/cold air blowing through the front vents?
I had an issue (sporadic but frequent) where I had hot air blowing on me (driver - RHD) and cold air on the passenger side. You could lean over and feel the temperature of the air coming from the passenger side vent, but the centre vents had the same discrepancy between left/right. This is with no split set up on the display. I normally set it for 21 or 22. It didn't happen all the time, but usually after driving for some time or after one or more intermediate stops. Outside temp didn't seem to matter. I've had it on warm days in the mid to high 20's (Celsius) in summer and cold days 10-15 degrees in winter. Infotainment reset and TCAM reset don't fix it. Usually the first drive after a long break is OK (e.g. in the morning), but then it may kick in later.
I say "had an issue" because I took the car in and they recalibrated the system and it seemed fine since February. And it generally is. Or it's better. Then in mid August I drove the car 1800km over 2 days, that was fine. On the way back, on the first day, it comes back. I noticed the hot air air blowing on me between the first and second charging stops. Playing with the controls, left/right split, etc didn't fix things. Neither did lowering the temp to LO. I had hot air, passenger side had cold air. Turning off the heater didn't fix things either. It was a pretty much constant 15 degrees outside the whole trip. I had the window open slightly during that time to get some cool air (and despite the heavy downpours, rain didn't get into the car, which was great). After a lunch stop, it reversed. I had cold air, passenger side had hot air. After the second charging stop, I had the hot air again. After the third charging stop it seemed to be OK. The next day, it was fine all day. Now, over a month later, I still feel it's not quite right. Sometimes it's warmer on the passenger side, even if not obviously hot, but slightly warmer. Today, while charging, I was sitting in the car and could feel the pulsing of alternating warm air and cool air every few seconds, and could hear the vent controllers clicking away. After driving off, after some time it seemed to settle back to normal.
I'm going in for my first 30,000km service in 2 weeks, hopefully they will be able to fix it (hopefully replace something faulty). Except the only day off I can get is Friday and the aircon guys don't work Fridays, so I will most likely need to leave the car there.
