How long do you plan on keeping your Polestar 2?

Has anyone given thought about how long they plan to keep their Polestar 2? Do you plan on eventually trading it in for something else? Or are you going to keep it as long as you can?

Like the reply above -- I hope to trade up to a Polestar 4 when that comes out. I've purchased my '23 Polestar 2 and previously had a '22 Polestar 2 briefly. This time around I plan to hand onto it longer. That said, 4 months in and nearly 7,000 miles means I will easily hit 20k miles on it. So with any luck, my PS4 arrives before my warranty runs out (by miles) :p
I don't like to switch vehicles often. I drove my last one for 23 years. I'll probably drive my Polestar 2 as long as it remains in good health.

I still have my 2001 Jaguar XJR and my 2004 VW Touareg, so I generally keep cars a long time.

For the PS it will come down to reliability and cost. If it does not become a money pit, I will likely keep it a long time. Some might say my other cars are costly to keep, but in reality I have been able to address almost all fixes on my own and parts not terribly priced. The Jag has been exceptionally reliable, the VW not as much. I thought my Panamera would be my "till I die" car, but turned out to be high maintenance at high cost where almost everything requires dealer service.

The other factor is that EVs are evolving really quickly. 5-10 years from now, our P2s may feel like Model Ts. Only time will tell.
I am a very happy customer and wasn't ready to hand mine back so I've recently extended the lease by 2 years. I'll be handing it back after 48 months in total.
i was thinking about trading up to the p4, however there is one significant factor that's giving me second thoughts:

DEPRECIATION!

the p2 has depreciated so quickly if i were to sell my p2 now, i'd be under water $8-$9k, even at 0% financing. very disappointed.

makes me kind of regret my purchase.

to be fair, i took delivery in 2021 and took advantage of the $7500 tax credit

Had it since March 21 on a 3 year salary sacrifice for £480 all in, already have a EV6 GT on order BUT if the P4 is around the same price point as the GT I may swap the order

It could be worse. You could have purchased a Tesla Model Y Performance, and lost $20k overnight when Tesla dropped the prices and added the $7500 Federal Tax Credit.
$8-$9 thousand upside down on a less than five year old vehicle is the new norm.

I finance it over 6 years... and plan to sell it right after.
5-6 years also seems like the max... if you want to stay technologically current and get a decent re-sell price.
Give or take...

I usually keep my vehicles 4-6 years so planning on doing the same for the P2.

Not in the UK. PS2s are holding their value second hand. As we get closer to the 2030 deadline for ICE vehicles not being sold new EVs will only go up in value.

How long till someone makes an EV that's actually fun to drive for less than 100k?
No clue how long I will keep this car for. I'm still quite happy with the car, and not in a rush to replace it. Nothing that exists on the market today interests me more than what I have now.

I have a PS2 LRSM with pilot and plus package and 12, 000 miles on it. KBB quoted $36,000. Wow want a devaluation of a vehicle just over a year old.

Selling year old cars has never been a good financial choice 🤣

I'm not trying to start an argument, but I think the P2 is very fun to drive. I had a 2019 Genesis G70 3.3T AWD, and the P2 reminds me of it everyday...minus the interior and stereo. The Genesis being better than the P2 in both aspects.
