If you had to kill off one car brand, what would it be?

Never been a fan of Maserati and of all car brands today they seem to be the most disposable. One exception in their model line up is the Quattroporte, but it isn't doing much for the brand. Don't even get me started on the Ghibli.

Probably right after them would be Jaguar. They used to be cool but I don't know what happened.

Toyota and their hybrid system is brilliant. The new Prius, the GR models get a big thumbs up from me.

Mitsubishi for sure should be put to pasture along with Nissan/Infinity.

Mini seems to have past their purpose and BMW should refocus on what made them great. It's okay to sell less than MB/Audi.

Bog off Darius. - surely this will get a response from it?

It's not so much a particular brand but a certain type of car i.e. the mid size ICE SUV. Drivers of these seem to be the most aggressive and help justify my ability to ping into the distance.
Oh gosh yes, the Jack Russel of car categories. Can't stand these little SUVs either, a lot of them don't even have any form of awd.

But if you want me to commit to a brand I'd say Citroën as no current model does justice to its heritage.
Sadly I have to agree again, a brand with such amazing cars and today it is not exciting; just cheap. Then again they bought the Vauxhall/Opel brands from GM, stupid mistake, also such boring plain cars.

The Hybrid has its place. We had a trip to NYC (900Km) and there was an incoming storm so we left in the evening to make it into the city.

We took the hybrid and left the P*2 at home. Total cost to drive was about $110 CDN. I am sure the time wasted and the electricity to charge the P*2 would have been more. I wish I had the PHEV, because it'd be the best of both worlds.

I don't need speed hence the SMLR but I do admit, the refinement or lack of on the CT200h is obvious. EV is the future especially when you can trust there is a DC charger as readily available as gas stations.

Dear old Jaguar seems to have it's head deeper in the sand than most. They've so far failed to manage to produce an EV on their own Magna makes the I-Pace and some lovely blokes in a shed in Wales seem to have shown it's pretty easy to electrify the Landy without the cast of thousands in the Midlands. They made the old bus better, faster more capable.

When I went to look at the I-Pace a few years ago I thought the salesman was going to offer me a stirrup cup and he had no clue about EV's. Never catch on y'know...

I still love Jaguar and Land Rover. Jaguar offers an excellent full coverage warranty and service plan in the U.S., 5-years/60,000-miles. Love F-Pace, F-Type, Range Rover, Defender 110.

Really like the I-Pace, though Jaguar never evolved it other than the Pivi Pro infotainment. Drives and handles very well, charge rate is a joke.

Not a fan of the MC20?

My list of car brands that should no longer exist.

Toyota
Lexus
Honda
Nissan ICE division
Mitsubishi
KIA
Hyundai
TATA
Suzuki
FIAT
Citroen
Jaguar (keep Land Rover)
Vauxhall / Opel / GM don’t matter what you call them they are all crap
Peugeot
Seat / Skoda / Cupra just call them VW for godsake and sell Porsche before you ruin it VW.

I will keep Tesla (we all need a ugly car to make ours look good and Tesla are the best at making them ugly and fall apart)

I could add a few more but people need jobs.

Vauxhall/Opel is Citroen now. And GM may as well be called Deawoo ;)

You’ve never driven a WRX, a Nissan Skyline, taken a Toyota Land Cruiser over a muddy bush trail, or thrashed a Mitzi Lancer around a gravel country road? Or perhaps watched Mazda RX-7’s demolish european rivals in production racing? Inspiring all of them, granted not always matched by current offerings from the same manufacturers but neither are the generally insipid selections offered up by most of the present day European shops.

Unfortunately for most of my life VW's have been more expensive than the comparable Japanese / Korean vehicle in Australia / New Zealand. Neither Seat or Skoda have attacked those markets consistently. We have had a Golf and loved it, and a Beetle here in the US which we also loved.

Once GM and Ford stopped manufacturing locally if you wanted affordable wheels you bought Japanese or Korean. And if you wanted a reliable work ute or bush traveler you bought Japanese. Lately Ford has done well with the Ranger which is now the best selling car in Australia but like all the other top-10 selling vehicles there is made in Asia. Even their Tesla's are made in China.
