Just joined the site and wanted to say hello. I finalized the paperwork today on a 21 white Launch Edition with performance pack. About 30k miles, in great condition and paid $23k. Super psyched to get it home later this week. For only slightly more than a used Corolla of about the same vintage, seemed like an easy choice. This will be replacing a Tesla Model 3 that I am about to turn in on lease.

I was wondering if anyone out there who paid the $1200 or so for the performance download could chime in about if they still think it was worth it or not.

Thanks!

Jealous of the deal you got. ’ve had my car about 8 months and just got the performance software update a couple of weeks ago. It feels snappier and I like having the 0-60 timer, so it was worth it to me. I wish they were better about the actual delivery of the update. It shouldn’t take a week to deliver an OTA update. And when I got mine in the middle of everybody’s waiting for 3.4.4, I figured it was the actual OS update - mainly because the ‘click here to learn more’ link went to the 3.4.4 release notes.

Funny story. After reading exhaustively about the performance download here, I decided I was going to do it at some point later on. However, when I went back to the dealership to finish up the paperwork, I looked at the installed apps again and lo and behold, my car already had the performance app/download installed. I'm pretty sure the dealership didn't even price the car as having the performance pack in the first place, much less the download. After getting home, I made a call to my local Polestar service department to verify that restoring the infotainment to factory settings to erase the previous owner's info wouldn't erase the performance download too. I was really nervous about it, but it worked, all the other info was deleted and reset but the performance download remained. I feel like that is good info to have both for a buyer and seller. And if anyone is looking for a used Polestar 2 that may be mispriced in the Boston area, I can recommend a place! :)

The lack of branding seems to really help those of us looking for a good used deal. No used dealers understand the performance software, the packs, or that leather was optional. That's how I got my loaded car at bargain-bin pricing.

I was also nervous about the performance software getting 'lost', but appear to have retained it after a wipe on my end too. Now I just need to get 3.4.4+ so I can set up PAK...

Go for the Performance Pack since your car is set up brake and suspension wise to handle the power increase. Congrats on the purchase :)

Yup, I have the launch and g meter and it confirms my car has the upgrade when I look at the app in the specs. It's funny, they had quite a few PS2's at the used car dealership. I test drove the two I was most interested in back-to-back. I could tell the one I eventually chose was faster in the mid-range, but I really didn't have a huge opportunity to really open it up during the test drives. Honestly, I was much more concerned about the axel clicks being there or not at low speed and I didn't even really pay that much attention. It wasn't until I went back to sign the paperwork that I knew how to look for it.
