Lease extension?

So we have an order in for a P4 that says delivery in Q1 2025. Our P2 lease ends mid November 2024. I received our letter from Polestar financial about preparing for the end of our lease and the options available. It said nothing about a lease extension. Just wonder if anyone else in the US has asked about a lease extension to bridge to the delivery of the new Polestar. I know they have the short term lease program, but makes absolutely zero sense for 2-5 months. (huge money loss)

When my P4 order estimated delivery said it would come after my P2 lease I was assured I could extend automatically for 6 months or so at the same rate. But of course couldn’t get that in writing

Right on the PFS web site I found where there is a button to click to request a lease term extension, but it won't let me into that page because I'm not in the right time frame of my P2 lease right now (23 months remaining). If you're already getting letters about it, then I'd log in, and find that, and see what you can see. And/or call or submit a ticket, to ask more details.

Most leasing companies allow a 3-6 month lease extension with the same monthly miles/payment. Many of them only let you request it ONCE though so be careful because if you do 3 months and then the P4 isnt ready, you may not be able to extend it a second time. Good luck!

Curious about if that estimated delivery time on the P4 is still accurate in the US. Mine says the same, but I’m not confident in it yet. They need to clarify if the tariffs are affecting delivery times of ordered cars, as it currently sounds like to me they are waiting for for the Korean plant to come online next year for any to come to North America. I wish they would just say what’s going on….

Based on some local Polestar dealers:
1) More likely they’ll wait for the Korean P4 assembly line (will share plant with Volvo). Polestar is feverishly trying to complete the line by fall and start quality control runs and establish production supply lines.
2) Polestar/Geely would lose their shirt on every P4 if it comes to US from China, and still honor the reservation sale price.

P2 will disappear from the US. Am glad to have it for now, and don’t expect the P4 to make it here by Jan-Feb (still say that on website).
