Ok, I know the implication of having mudflaps is increased drag, which means lower efficiency, and less range but there’s already small mudflaps on the front of each wheel, so will it actually make much difference if I’m not doing high mileage?

My previous cars have always had “flaps” fitted so I’m looking for aftermarket mudflaps to cut down on the crap being flung up the car, so what do people think?

1. Dont fit them.
2. Do fit them.
3. Can anyone recommend any?

Have been looking at these:

Cheers

I'm in the same boat, although less so considering I no longer live in a place where one of the seasons is "road construction". Used to always get tar kicked up, so mud flaps were a must.

Think the car might look kinda cool with them... I dunno. One thing to consider would be putting PPF on the rockers and rear bumper to protect them from small rocks and what not.

I've always been a fan of Rally Armor: Urethane Mud Flaps, Rally Armor

On any ICE vehicle the impact is minimal due to the inherent inefficiencies already in the engine. On an EV the impact can be a lot more ... however at worst I can't see them increasing efficiency by 10%, so if we can get close to 30kWh/100mi in the summer, that would 33 ...

I want them ... I will fit them ... once I find some. I just hate how dirty the car gets down the front. I may try font only at first and see how things go ... then add the rear if the impact on range was minimal.

However, need to find some first

I asked today at Volvo if any XC40 mud flaps would fit ... they said no. However maybe with the C40 coming out ... maybe then.

I was looking at how the little rear mudflap (in front of the rear wheel well) is fitted, and it seems that there is the same existing hardware in the back of the front rear well to mount mud flaps there. So maybe someday?

Firstly, this is the best fit and finish I have ever had with a third party part supplier. Looks OEM to me!!! 😎 Thank you @968mike , I ordered these the moment I saw your post.
Everything on the car that needs a bit is torx "yellow". I'm glad I invested in a set. There isn't much room between the tire and wheel well. I used a wrench holding the torx bit. There is a push fastener behind the rear wheels.
My car looks more serious now. Worth every penny even though I am parking it for the winter.
