OMG thank you - I’m on 2.7 and google maps is slow as molasses, with map grids loading so slowly they come in in pieces. Not to mention touch response is laggy to the point of absolute anger. And Carplay isn’t detecting when I plug in (minimal issues on 2.4).

Polestar devs continue their craptastic work.
That reads like an issue with network connectivity to be fair ;)

Or when you take too much of the prescription and build up a tolerance and begin an addiction!?

I'm liking the 2.7 feel, have put 200+ miles on this version and it is a smooth cruiser now in traffic on the highways. All the more reason to have different driving modes for different people / different situations.
I didn't get a 476Hp car to be a smooth cruiser ;) If I wanted that I could have got a Toyota Camry hybrid or Lexus or something like that. But yes, if they mess about with it, then at least provide different presets and a custom option.

I'm really not liking our car now, it's drastically different in feel. LOL When my wife is eyeing up the BMW i4 M50 or Audi GT etron as she likes her cars more sporty and directer controls. Our is booked in for next week but considering Polestar's reaction so far, I'm not holding my breath. LOL, We've gone from loving this car to thinking of getting rid in one update and a couple of days…

I understand completly!
I lost the desire to drive it! Feels so sad!
Tomorrow I am taking the car to my favorite road, and hoping that will redeem it.

Fingers crossed :)

We have a road like that nearby as well. Lovely and quiet, away from wild animals as well. Swooping bends, banked going into negative camber, and a few sharp turns. Great to get the feel, feel the weight move, and throttle response got to be on the money to drive spirited but smoothly. We drove our BMW M2C to Polestar on that road, and then on the test drive drove the Polestar, and we were impressed. Also use it for the 'Italian' tune up for our 80s cars with (mechanically) adjustable everything. Fingers crossed its just an update that corrupted settings that can be restored.

Drove 70 miles today in San Francisco Bay Area freeways and first time since I’ve had the car (over 1.5 years) the ACC and Pilot Assist were close to what I’ve expect them to be. Traffic was average and flowing 60-70 mph on mostly 4 to 5 lanes. Still I prefer steering on my own and letting ACC decide the speed most of the time.
Same -- Pilot Assist is almost functional and not just a novelty.

Perhaps when they add the driving mode presets, they will make it automatically switch to "smooth cruiser" if they detect that the driver is wearing progressives. ;)

They absolutely should and certainly can add presets.

Agreed. They seem to want to please to many people now, and messing about with the settings when people have driven tens of thousands of miles in it is just not a smart idea. And thus each time they do they may please some and annoy others.

Also there is a huge difference between the audience for a SRSM vs LRDM with Power upgrade and BST, and then there is also the PP.

To me the pedal travel is crazy, and I think it gets amplified with the OPD being less agressive. I’m having to use the brakes a lot more now.

And someone else mentioned it. The OPD effect seems variable, and I haven’t been able to figure out the exact conditions. When I have it in standard it’s always less than it was, but it’s not as much less in all circumstances. It feels weird and unpredictable to me.

I have no empirical evidence for it but it seems to change and adapt depending on the traffic on the road. I just took a different road back and it was super variable. Like when there was someone in front of me the OPD regen braking was more aggressive, but if the road is clear it was weaker.

Then the other observation, someone on Facebook suggested that, was to switch all the car settings on/off. I could swear that when I changed the steering setting I could literally feel the throttle response and pedal change. I tried it a few times, and it feels repeatable where on firm the old throttle response is back. I don’t want to draw conclusions as the mind can play tricks, but it sure does make my throttle feel better. Just don’t like the steering like that on our terrible roads 😂

That was my take too, it certainly isn’t consistent and wether there’s a leading car or not seems to affect how regen kicks in.

If this is what they feel is the most appropriate standard setting then fair enough it’s their product, but they’ve been making it less and less aggressive with every release since I got the car in 2020.

A new setting to the right of standard would be most welcome now, as I don’t particularly enjoy the feeling that in driving an old automatic with a torque converter whenever I lift off the go pedal.

Yup totally agree. Just for “fun” I tried it with OPD off, it felt like the car was accelerating. Like a stuck throttle cable or too high idle with that torque converter.

Perhaps best way of describing the feel to me now is more Volvo than Polestar.

I might buy a tweed hat with a little feather in it 😂

I think its the same on all steering settings.
Just had a quick drive and my first feeling was: ”the throttle/OPD isnt that bad, its still goes fast, might even feel faster”
But then the new strange steering made its debut and ruined everything.
I think they have changed the speed the steering becomes harder also, turned around a roundabaout and was dangerously surpriced be the light steering, and next turn its harder again, never felt that before!
But biggest problem is the confidence in the car is basically gone!
Should say we had horrible winterroads a couple of weeks ago that we crawled around on and I am afraid this made bushings and stuff go bad! Maybe…
Steering is very much ruined for me.

Before all steering settings ( there are at least 6 different with LKA on/off) was great in its own way, now none are good!
I drove mostly with hard steering and LKA on before.

Chatted with Polestar and hopefully they can take a look at my car and see if everything is as it should, and I begged them to give me 2.5 back!
Lets see how that goes…
Mine is booked in for next week. I suspect all they (can) do is reinstall 2.7. I’d happily have 2.6 back as it was all fine, but can recall ever hearing anyone who received a downgrade.

Had a problem on P 2.7 yesterday. Polestar 2 SoC was 80%, set it to 100% for a trip. Got to the car for the trip and it was still 80%. Wound up taking the R1T instead of the Polestar 2.

They can downgrade it, if they want to. They did that to "fix" TCAM issues a few versions back (was that 2.3?)

Do you use a HomeFlex by chance? I'm finding that when I want to top off in the morning it won't charge in the morning if I have it plugged in all night unless I unplug and replug then it goes to the set limit. Its a new problem and not sure whether it is the HomeFlex or the car.

No, it was connected to a Grizzl-E. I think this is a car issue.

I'll pay attention to it -- the charge port light is green but the car won't recognize that it is plugged in when I increase the limit. If I unplug and replug it works. Makes sense that its the car as the HomeFlex is quite reliable (like all other connected gadgets I own except that $60,000 thingee in my carport).
