Maybe this IS the problem - somehow they have applied the Volvo XC40’s mapping to the Polestar 2? I haven’t driven that car but definitely something has changed in OPD and I liked the old way better.
That is plausible and unfortunately not unlikely considering the mixup with the Volvo at the previous release for other stuff like connected safety.

Makes you wonder about the kind of people that drive their test fleet!

They can downgrade it, if they want to. They did that to "fix" TCAM issues a few versions back (was that 2.3?)
Not sure they can. They promised to get me back to 2.1 after the changes with ACC, but eventually said it was not possible.

It does make you wonder whether they actually have one 🤷‍♂️
You reckon they do? With everything I'd read about previous software updates and the problems introduced, and the limitations of the mobile app, it doesn't feel like what any of their software developers do is ever used in the real world by anyone at Polestar.

We are their test fleet.

I think it was 2.2 that they re-installed when 2.3 went awry on some and they pulled it for others.

Problem with Polestar is that often we don't really know what is possible and what is not, and they slip these "improvements" into releases without listing them in the notes or in unannounced modules, then think they are doing us a favor.

Ideally, would have at least three presets for throttle/OPD: "Sport", "Cruise", and "Eco". Certainly it is possible to eke out a few miles of range by toning down the performance.

As a new owner, I have always been surprised this was not a feature. The option to switch between an eco, standard and sports type power/throttle mode. I've heard other EVs offer this. While I appreciate OPD staying on permanently, when some EVs make you turn it on every time you drive, is good, I still think Polestar could do better.

Reminds of something I saw years ago on an assignment and have to share. Found it in the software credits after I installed security key banking drivers to handle funds online:

I guess given I knew Polestar is part of Volvo, who have been a major international car brand with decades of experience, I had certain expectations which they completely fail to live up to. The build quality of the car may be perfect compared to the obvious competition, but that doesn't excuse the total let down on the software experience.

I'm not sure what's wrong with these EVs -- Volvo's isn't any better right now and their Sensus was not well received. Volkswagen's looks poor too and they get one update a year. Everything else I own works better -- thermostat, wifi lights, irrigation controller, locks, weather station, even my BBQ thermometer.

We do have a rapid onslaught of updates, for better or worse, and overall the car is far, far more reliable than when I got it with 1.7 a year ago.

I am having random tablet reset now after P2.7

during my afternoon drive, it reset itself 3 times.

I had navigation running in all cases. One time had map on gauge cluster not the tablet. The other two times map on tablet only not on gauge cluster. :(
