Good spot Naz. Something I've always debated, I know people rave about it, especially the changed throttle response. Never committed though, car is probably more than quick enough already.

 

It would be nice if they had a 7 day trial like apps do 😂

 

I like the current throttle response and I wouldn't upgrade unless I had a chance to test it to confirm I'd like it.

The other issue I have with this is that currently torque delivery is pretty much the same in normal temperature conditions all the way down to 20% so they made the right call product wise to not push it harder.

The upgrade increases torque but it drops as battery starts to go bellow 80%. I rarely charge mine over 80% and it wouldn't spend much time at the range where the increase is available, so it feels a bit pointless to me.

I wouldn't mind paying £699 but having to deal with the insurers and not having an option to revert the throttle mapping to standard if I want to makes it a nope for me.

 

Just checked and it seems like the discount is not available for NA. It’s still ~$1200.

 

They should discount it and also extend the half shafts warranty to 100K!

 

FYI the original badge costs only €27

 

Sticking the badge on without the upgrade is surely the Polestar equivalent of being an 'M' badge wanker.
