I don't believe for a second that the car in the pictures has anything to do with the possibly upcoming facelift.

Maybe, but it's not present in the other photos of the same car. What's also missing from the other photos, are the transmitters on the wheels. So if I had to guess, that tiny taped in bump is a receiver for those wheel transmitters.

Ride height looks the same to me in the pictures where the car is stationary.

Yeah, it definitely looks like taped on test apparatus.

Finally getting rid of the fake gas grille is great news. This car was designed as a Volvo in 2017. The update to XC40/C40 will be a huge improvement and give it an updated modern look. Looking forward to getting the refreshed P2!

This seems pretty insubstantial for a facelift. My guess is that this is more to do with powertrain or driver assist enhancements.

I'm also not a fan of the bland grills. All these EVs look the same. I know the aero is an issue, but the current grill is kind of unique and interesting.

Same here. I don't get these EVs that do their best to look like something totally different both exterior and interior. We liked the PS2 for how it looked, not because it is an EV.

Just because it says "test vehicle" it doesn't mean it's to do with a facelift, or even a polestar 2 ... could (and probably is) just a test mule being use to test some piece of technology, technical setup, electronics driver assistance etc etc

Yes but the C40 was cleaned up and looks smoother and more integrated.

Compared to competition the P2 while a beautiful design is inefficient and has poor aerodynamics. I sure hope they change the front grille to match the new C40. There is no reason to have a old fashioned slotted ICE grille on such a modern vehicle just to please traditionalists. If you look at the battery and drivetrain architecture the current grille does nothing for cooling. All new Polestars have a sleek front end without fake ICE grilles so naturally the P2 will follow suit.

Both cars on the pictures are registered as Volvo´s and owned by Volvo Cars. I do not think they are Volvo´s anyway. The registration is more a sign of the "close cooperation" with Volvo and Polestar.

Well since its a swedish registration number I looked it up and its built in march, registered the 5th of may and it is a VOLVO! Not just owned by Volvo but it is registered as a Volvo! Polestars are registered as Polestars.
So questions is… is it the perfect testmule for a volvo?

Behind my P*2's grill there appears to be a heat exchanger or radiator of some sort. Are you sure the grille serves no purpose whatsoever?
