it seems like they’re doing much better in Norway/Sweden/Netherlands than UK/Belgium/Germany.
is that right?
if so, what accounts for that? Is Polestar marketing it more or better in northern countries? Or is the impression that the competition is better in UK/Germany/Belgium?

Good Question and re the UK BEVs are still a niche (albeit a fast growing one from a small base) and that is even with government subsidies and favorable tax treatment. 1st 2 months of year BEVs had a 6.9% market share so 93% of buyers chose not to buy one. You can see UK figures here. Car Registrations

Re Polestar YTD is 5th best selling BEV so in UK probably doing well especially considering ID3 not in top 10 even with their large loyal customer base.

That makes sense re the UK

the real surprise to me is Germany. It has a fairly robust EV market it seems but Polestar is being outsold 8-10x by the likes of the Zoe and Kona (popular non German EVs). Those are cheaper cars sure but seems there’s an outsized issue compared to how Polestar is fairing in other markets compared to similar competition.
Any Germans out there have insight into what’s going on? Relative aero inefficiency vs Model 3 a factor given how fast y’all drive?

The growth in EV's in the UK has been 50% in the last year according to newspaper reports -
And this is all being helped by the infrastructure now being built with another Gridserve Electric Forecourt site getting planning approval.
😁🍻🥂

The massive sales of the Zoe in Germany are largely driven by the large EV subsidies from the government which at one point meant that lease companies could offer the Zoe for free for three years!

Wonder how these numbers compare to what Polestar is targeting. IIRC Polestar is targeting 30-50k sales annually globally. If the 2447 year to date numbers here are accurate, that would extrapolate to 14-15k in Europe. Have no idea what sales are like in China. In N America, I imagine at most that would add a few k more.
Given all the varied challenges, I think ~20k in the first full year of sales is pretty good? And the lower cost single motor trim will certainly help sales. And I think my guesstimates are probably fairly conservative too

I have just seen this on LinkedIn:
"
Andrew Lytheer: Head of Communications and PR
Another big week for Polestar as we enter Austria, Denmark and Finland. The response has been outstanding and market MDs Thomas, Henrik, Tommi and teams should be very excited…
And we’re not simply standing still in the markets in which we have already launched…
"
This is just the opening lines to a longer post, but it highlights that there are still European countries (besides France) that have not seen a Polestar yet
So @polerad - there is still plenty of room for growth and deliveries 👍
