Ignacio de Isusi, the head of operations at Polestar shared on LinkedIn that Polestar will be opening up a Pop Up Store in New York on July 22.

Both the Polestar 1 & 2 will be on display. You'll also be able to book a test drive!

I just got this email from Polestar! Anyone else get something similar?

Announcing our upcoming popup experience centers

Hello: We are excited to announce that the construction of our first PopUp experience centers in New York City and Los Angeles is nearly finished, with San Francisco expected to open later in August! Get to know the Polestar 1 and Polestar 2 in-person at your own pace and even design your own on our interactive monitor. Our Polestar Specialists will also be on-site to give you as much or as little help as you need to explore each vehicle.

In late summer we will offer on-demand test drives, so you can experience driving a Polestar 2 from wherever it’s most convenient for you - whether it be at home or from one of our PopUps.

We will be in touch soon with more information on how to schedule your Polestar 2 test drive.

The health and safety of our customers and staff is our highest priority. As we open the doors to our PopUps, we have adopted and will enforce the guidelines and protocols recommended by local and national health officials.

I received the same email today as well. I’m about 1hr from LA Popup. That’s in my to-do schedule for Wednesday. If nothing else I’ll be able to see on in person if all goes well.

I'm closer to SF so have to wait a month.
@baldyloxx I'm totally jealous. Any chance you're taking requests on things to look at???

Things I'm interested to know:
* How does the fabric compare to the leather? I'm leaning to leather anyway, but wondering if it's worth the extra $$

* How wide is the backseat? Can I fit a car seat in the middle and two (not large) adults on either side?
Do they have measured internal dimensions they can share?

* Do the varied pictures floating around show the colors well in terms of what they're like in person?

* Will they say anything more specific about when test drives will start up? [beyond "soon", "late Summer", etc]

Thanks!

Those are all on my 'list' already, with exception to the car-seat. but I will do my best for you. I have now idea how big carseats are, as I do not have kids. haha

Thank you! much obliged.

Re the back seat, I guess what I'm asking is if there's enough shoulder room for three average-sized adults to fit across - not counting leg space and the manspreading around the faux-transmission tunnel.

Not going to lie. I'm half-tempted to risk COVID and the ire of my wife to drive down there just to see the P2 myself....
don't judge...

The review you linked in the others thread had the reviewer stating the middle seat should be relegated to a small kid. Not too many cars comfortably accommodate 3 across in the rear.

Thanks-
As long as it accommodates a kid (in a car seat) in the middle with my small wife and smaller MIL on either side we're good! I'd be driving up front trying not to enjoy things too much on the straightaways and curves.

For us, that setup works in the IPace, etron, XC40, and Model 3 (a bit tighter but still fine) - we're not exactly of Scandinavian stature.
I'm assuming (hoping?) P2 fits in that range of rear benches. My main other concern is the ride quality (as in the parallel thread...).

That's awesome @baldyloxx. I hope Polestar doesn't skimp out on vehicles and has a few for people to look at. Be sure to post photos!

If you have a forward facing car seat you're likely going to be fine with space across. I did just what you are contemplating in much smaller cars. Whereas a rear facing seat won't fit in either position without one/both of the front seats set far forward.
