Thanks John, that confirms the trim below the reg is a separate piece, I'm still stuck on whether to push in or pull out to free the clips. I've tried both but it's pretty firmly fixed in so don't want to over do it until I know for sure the right way

 

Hi, thought I would update this incase it's helpful for anyone. I sorted the broken parking sensor without removing any bumper or trim. It was the front middle right that had broken, by making a couple of prising tools I managed to free the sensor from the bodywork and then the wiring. Was very fiddlie, i had to do it twice cause the sensor from auto724 was broken in transit, 2nd sensor from autodoc was much better packaged. 2nd time round was much more straight forward, just a few mins really. Hope that helps someone in the future, I'll try post a picture of tools if I remember.

Awesome!! Do you have to disconnect the 12v battery or anything when changing the sensors?

 

I didn't and the system has worked fine since the replacement
