Replacement Tires

I'm currently shopping for new tires even though I don't need them yet. I'm over 11,000 Km now on my Continental 20" tires and I want to know what is out there. I have a list of tires that fit, speed rating, weight, size all that stuff. However I'm picky and I want to explain my logic and hopefully the group can help me narrow the field.

I drive 1000km minimum a week, tread life scores a lot of points. Secondly I would like to get a run flat tire if possible. I don't plan on calling a tow truck in the middle of nowhere if I don't have to. I cruise on the highway mostly, I don't need something aggressively sporty. Smooth quiet and efficient rolling resistance is perfect. Tyrereviews.com is where I sourced most of my information to narrow my list.

Tire Replacement Choices

Michelin 48963 Pilot Sport 4 S - Quiet Choice
Continental ExtremeContact Sport - $ Price and Tread Life
Good Year Asymmetric 2 ROF (Run Flat) - Well Rounded
Bridgestone 004801 Potenza S001 RFT (Run Flat) – Best Wet choice.

Also any choices outside of this list that match my criteria would be greatly appreciated.

I'm waiting for Michelin to release their Pilot Sport EV tire later this year.

Run flat and smooth don't really go together. The sidewalls are much stiffer so they transfer road vibrations through to the car a lot more. They're also really heavy, and unsprung weight is a serious range killer. The car has that horrible foam which would serve a similar purpose to a run flat, and it should patch anything short of a blowout.

Also keep in mind that any tire that's not EV specific will be noisier. Here are the tires that are OEM spec: Polestar Tire Application Chart - USCA 20w32d4.xlsx (polestartechhub.com)

I never looked? Are the Conti’s on our cars a run flat tire???

Nope. They've got some "Polestar" customizations and a jar of goop in the frunk.

(Side note, those jackasses sell Polestar specific tires but still don't have them listed in the vehicle picker)

Currently not listed in 245/45 R19.
MIght be worth having a look at Bjorn Nyland's tests as sometimes he compares different tyres:

Has anyone ever tested or considered the new Pirelli PZ4's. It looks like they have a version for electric vehicles (probably because of the noise reduction system they call PNCS) 245/40R20 Size Tires: choose the best for your car | Pirelli
I have been using the site Tyre Reviews to look for tires to replace my ContiSport 6. I settled on Pirelli PZero All Season +. The review I read was good and the tread life was my primary reason for choosing an all season tire. I won't see the same performance but the ride should be a little softer. I expect the road noise to also be on the low side.
Thanks I just put the Conti's back on and they are much quieter than the Nokian winter. Noise will be the number one criteria for me.
I had the PZero AS on my previous Volvo S90 T8.
I thought they were very good tires, but were lower profile than my 19s now (245/40 R19). Due to that, I had to replace 3 of them due to sidewall bubble formation after hitting potholes.
My current sidewall is 45.(Continentals). I was considering replacing the Michelin Summer tires with the Pirellis, but Polestar corporate replaced them with the Continentals last year which, after 7,000 miles, have been excellent. I appreciate the thicker sidewall here in the Northeast.

I put the
PIRELLI P ZERO ALL SEASON PLUS ELECT
on my Tesla Model S and it greatly reduced noise and they ride nice on that car.

Thanks for the feedback. I finally bought the Pirelli's summer version. After the break-in, a little warmer temperatures and a few miles I find them very quiet and comfortable. I still have to check the sporty behavior and the durability ;-)
I have yet to find the performance limit on my Pirelli PZero summers. At 265 the contact patch is a nice size and the rubber is sticky to the touch. I'm concerned the tread won't last long.
