Shipping and delivery

Hi,

Over the weekend I received an email "Your Polestar 2 is now in the UK". Looking through the forum, it seems that the general consensus is that it is approximately 1 week from the car arriving in Zeebrugge, Belgium to that "is now in the UK" email. However, the schedule list on Wallenius Wilhelmsen doesn't show any arrivals at either Zeebrugge or Bristol in the past 2 weeks. The last arrival in Belgium was Tannhauser on the 25th of September. Anyone have any idea what boat the car arrived on? Perhaps the recent driver shortages in the UK have pushed out deliveries? Or maybe Polestar is no longer using WW?

Is it still approximately 2 weeks from the "your car is in the UK" email to delivery? How long before delivery do they start letting you pick delivery dates?

Thanks

@roundyuk yeah I got an am one booked on the 4th November so as long as it’s got a 60% charge I’ll drive it to work, but if I was allowed to pick it up no time lost.
I think the only space currently in the UK is Westfield, and it won't be suitable for collection so delivery is the only option.
They offer test drives from Westfield so I would have thought they could do collection also?
Did everyone in the Uk have their P2s delivered or were some of you able to collect from a location?
I think someone else pointed out in a different thread that if you collected it in person you may not be protected by distance selling regulations. It's also why Polestar refund the £1k reservation - so they do not open themselves to refund requests from the credit card companies

Try 4-6 weeks. And yes, the Polestar comms on delivery is a bit pish.
You were right. My car arrived in UK mid October and I was offered a (very) late November delivery date. Quite disappointing that it's taking 6 weeks to get a few hundred miles. The delivery picker is also a bit of a let-down. "here is your option, take it or leave it" and if you leave it then it may take weeks before we get around to offering you a new date and you might not like that one either. I was at least expecting an option of AM or PM but AM was the only option I could select

The options for delivery are very limited. Even if you select AM the car can arrive at 1300hrs and by the time handover is completed it will be 1400hrs.
With my last new car I played Hardball with the dealer and got the time of when I wanted to pick up the car and not the time it suited them. Couldn’t do anything of the sort with Polestar was supposed to go in to work after handover but it took so long that it wasn’t worth it in the end.
BTW, just to be slightly more positive on P*, the payments to my order are showing up the next day. Much faster than the "up to 5 working days" that the portal warns you the payment could take
MV Toledo docked in Zeebrugge late morning, hoping my car is on that boat - no idea but I can hope!

Just spoke to Polestar CS on the chat app to see if my car had arrived in Zeebrugge, dude on the other end said my car has departed Zeebrugge! Exciting, asked him if it was now on it's way to the UK and he said it could be on it's way or have been loaded to be shipped.

I was like "they come via road to the UK no?" He replied that they were shipped to the UK...

Confused!

Unless they have now changed the process?

I haven’t been given any tracking information so am wondering if it was a cancelled order. I’ve also noticed a lot of preconfigured cars and am thinking did they adapt one as mine is with pilot plus and they only have pilots or plus not both.

in ICE cars there used to be tricks to get certain things working e.g. in a Ford I had if I did certain moves or button presses it would activate central locking when the car didn’t come with central locking on speaking with some people I learnt that it’s just easier to fit the parts and deactivate them then custom build every car. Is the same for EVs?
I ordered preconfigured car in October, delivered 1 Nov. Charger not installed yet due to mix up over supply but just plug in to 13 amp socket whenever you can and you're unlikely to 'run out'. It does take a long time once you get below 50% though! Only 2 weeks into ownership and loving it. The best thing about the whole trying/ordering/delivery process is that you don't have to go into those awful dealerships which I consider akin to torture chambers!
I just spoke to CS about my car, still showing as departed Zeebrugge but not showing as arrived in the UK - she said "it definitely has departed but not due into the UK yet" that isn't due until towards the end November. Which is weird, I tracked a W&W boat from Zeebrugge to Southampton which arrived Sunday.

I asked her where it goes when showing as departed Zeebrugge as the UK isn't that far, she said she couldn't divulge anymore information :-D Funny...

She did say though, the next stage after "arrival in UK" is "at supplying dealer"

Delivered by a very nice chap called Steve

I wonder if P* will configure one of their upcoming cars with a bigger towing capacity so they can use that to deliver the cars instead of a Ford Ranger

The communications from Polestar are shocking!
Ordered 2nd Oct 21 and stated Jan 22 delivery which moved without notification to March 22 then since about December says Feb 22. Email just before Christmas - your car has shipped.
When I checked 26th Jan then says March delivery WTF!
I email customer service to ask them what is going on, can they give an update etc - still no reply (as of yet).
Email 27th Jan from Polestar - your car is in the UK.
App and account still shows March delivery. Email last night - wanting to delivery 11th Feb. App and account still shows March delivery.
As I won't be here I have rejected this date and suggested some others, but based on the non reply from support to my initial email I won't be holding my breath that I hear anything soon.
It seems that "support" -don't and the emails from Polestar (with the Swedish address) are unconnected to support, the account or the app.
Sorry for the rant - I'm losing some of the love for this and I haven't even gotten the car yet!

Have you gone onto the chat on then website, when mine was being messed around with they seemed to have the detail to hand. Is purchase via your company?
I haven't tried that - thanks I'll give that a go. Yes Company purchase

So couple of tips that might help as just had a fair bit of nonsense getting my car, arrives tomorrow now! Had to keep pressure on lease company via our contracts manager. Make sure lease company raises issues with fleet managers at Polestar. When I spoke to Polestar they were unaware of the issues as Zenith didn't even raise them. I gave up with the app and used the website login instead.

I used the chat, but apparently the delivery team need to work out new dates and email them to me....so I have to wait on that. My Company is buying outright so no lease Company to blame (or hold up). Still I am sure since they have it they will want to offload and get paid so hopefully I'll hear soon. Thanks for your help.
As described above, there is only one person doing deliveries for all of Scotland (and parts of northern England), and he does all his scheduling manually as he knows how many deliveries he can do in a day based on where the car is going (e.g. Aberdeen means only one delivery that day, Central Belt means he can fit 2 in a day, etc). It'll probably take him a few days to find you a new slot based on your location and other deliveries he has scheduled
