I have bought another steering wheel to have recovered in alcantera by Royal Steering Wheels and when I get it back was wondering if anyone knew process to remove steering wheel ?

Is it just the 12v battery that needs to be disconnected?

After that im guessing trim cover off behind steering wheel, release airbag clips either side and swap over..

Any advice appreciated, I will then update on here with pics for anyone else who wants to do the same.

The TCAM is just a small 3.7V backup battery for the ecall system etc, the only reason to disconnect it is so it doesn't discharge while you're doing the swap. Worst that can happen is it goes bellow a certain threshold and you'll get a warning about eCall until it charges back over the threshold again.

After disconnecting 12V don't be surprised if the car is still alive though!

If it happened to be active and charging the 12V battery at the time, you'd still have power (from the propulsion battery via the DC-DC converter) and an alert on the instrument cluster that there's a fault with the 12V battery.

It happened to me a couple of times.

There's no obvious way to isolate this (documented fuse for instance) so just reconnect and try again when the car isn't active. I had to close the door to lock it (didn't complain about the open bonnet) and wait a few seconds last time.
