I bought the Polestar roof rails to use with Thule roof carrier. No issues with opening the rear boot. (And yes, the Polestar 3 is surprisingly un-dog friendly).

 

Thanks for sharing this - the rails are pretty far forward, aren't they - it looks like there's tons of room to open the trunk.
The 3s loadspace floor is a lot higher than seems necessary - with all that space below. Still, at least it has a rear window to look out of - which is better than the 2, 4, 5 & 6...

 

I have an approx. 10y old Volvo Space Design 520 Box (done by Thule). External Dimensions are 2.35x0.94 meters. I also use the standard Polestar roof rails. No chance it will hit the rear boot lid. And I think, all modern Thule Boxes will fit.

 

That's a great design - pretty aero-dynamic for a 10year old box.

Works well but would go for the low version if possible.

 

Maybe it's the angle but it sits quite a lot further back than I'd expected - really nicely centred over the roof. But quite a bit of overhang at the back, right?

 

I have the Thule wing bars. They fit to the car in a similar way as my old Alfa 159 that caused me an end of lease fine due to roof damage. My recommendation is to be very careful when fitting and although the metal feet are plastic coated I enhanced this with a few windings of electrical tape. It definitely needs two people to then properly locate the pimple into the hole in the roof. Oooer missus. What’s wrong with a good old fashioned roof channel or roof rail Polestar?

 

Was the alfa roof damage user error.. or because it was made of bean cans!?
I guess it's a fine line between a secure fit and crushing/cracking the paint?

 

 

Well there’s one use for the front wing! I’m not sure I’d trust it - is it solid or just plastic and a few clips!?

 

It’s going under the wing to the towing eye. That rope’s not taking any load. It’s just in case.
