Total Propulsion System Failure - while driving!

Needless to say, it would make me furious. I feel for you, really do.

It’s hard to believe that 2.2 update could launch the avalanche of misgivings, but at the same time, I totally now believe that it is possible ( reading about all the weirdness caused to some other cars). I will really think long and hard before I hit the download button the next time.

It sounds like that this propulsion error does not care for system versions. The question is, is yours a hoax type, or actually hardware part going bad? …. Hopefully you get a loaner end they find out quickly.

One thing I forgot to mention is that when I got the warning the other week, the battery dropped by about 20%, then went back up when the error cleared.
Sound like your high voltage battery control module is having some issues or the software is getting glitchy reporting non-sense figures. Others here have seen this behaviour as well.

Definitely doesn’t sound like a healthy car behaviour. The 12V might be the culprit, but since they just had the car and charged it, you would think they would find out if the 12V was bad.

I don’t blame you, at all.

If 12V was the culprit, at some point it would just refuse to go into drive, period. It would not be intermittent. I am afraid, it does not appear to me that they have been able to pinpoint the root cause just yet.

Your 12V voltage looks fine … when the battery is not charged or discharged, 12.85V in most mean 100% … if you read over 13V you caught it while it was probably just charging while your car was turned on. Why do you think over 13V is low?

The error is just confirming that the root problem, sadly has not been fixed. But since the car drives fine and you don’t experience any other issue, perhaps in your case it is a software hoax. Have you tried to charge the vehicle?
