First time post and just after a bit of advice. I’m looking at a P*2 but would be making about 50% of the payment by selling my current car (‘18 Audi S5) - I take it that there’s no function to part ex towards the car, so if that’s the case what did others on here do with the car the P*2 replaced. WBAC are currently offering £25k for mine but obviously wouldn’t be selling until June / July as that’s the current expected delivery date for a new order! I, just so used to dropping off the old car as a part ex and just driving off in a new one that all this internet ordering and payment is foreign to me. Any help, advice or experience greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the quick and very useful replies. Hoping there’s some news soon about any intended restart to test drives as I‘m totally torn about colours and from reading on here the best place to go is to the test drive centres but they’re all closed at the moment. My current S5 is black as the Audi colours at the time were awful (I wasn’t paying nearly £3k for Sprint Blue) - loved my Estoril blue BMW 4 series and don’t want another black car. The Polestar colours are just too meh to justify £900 over black, but like I said, don’t really want black again!

I sold my '18 plate RS3 to Alexander's Prestige back in September, they made me a great offer over email (quite a lot more than Audi were offering for a trade in on an etron) settled the finance, paid me the balance and took the car away on a low loader. Absolutely recommend

Your delivery date is too far away to get dealers etc involved - any offers are pure guesswork and they will show little interest. When you get closer to the delivery date, you could put the car through Motorway - The Comparison Site to Sell Your Car - Compare Offers which will get you some decent offers usually from main dealers. The other option is to find an indy Audi specialist - I am just about to get rid of an S4 Avant and it will be going to an indy dealer in Buckinghamshire most likely.

I took my Merc C250 to WBAC and sold it then and there as the price was only about £500 less than what I would get privately and meant I was in control!

Took 4 business days for it to appear in my account.

A friend has a similar position to you and sold his car and taken a short term lease until June when his P*2 arrives, he will just have a month of cross over as he does not want to cancel the lease until the new car is in his hands

I used Motorway Motorway - The Comparison Site to Sell Your Car - Compare Offers. Pretty happy with their service as they send out the details to a number of different players and auction off the car to the highest bidder. Got a price that I was happy with and it was hassle free to get sold during the November lockdown. Took less than a week from registering to sold. The BMW dealer that bought it has just sold it, so they had up for about 2/3 months and so would have had to service and MOT it to sell it

I used Motorway too and they were excellent. Don't go anywhere near sellcar.co.uk - they were terrible to deal with and have a reputation for Del Boy sellers coming round and pressurising you into a sale price way lower than their initial price, which they clearly have no intention of offering.

I think your best bet is to wait until nearer the time. As above, plenty of options and easy ways to sell nowadays. I was lucky and was able to use my mums car whilst I waited for my car to come as she wasn't using it but I did go to WBAC which offered me more than anyone else and that was after the stone chip check!

Was quite fun actually as a few dealer ships were doing 48 hour test drives at the time so had a different car every weekend. Managed to have a Lexus IS200, Jag XE, Mini Countryman and a Merc E class after some back and fourthing with the salesmen 😂 😂
