Recently there was another thread about the $5-6k cheaper P*3 launch vehicle, but as of today (13-March-2024) you can find non pilot/plus pack configs AND July thru September inventory available cars. It shows the $78k Launch vehicles for "earlier delivery" too -- but the configurator has been updated, and the inventory search shows vehicles forthcoming. This being USA website FYI --

check it out:

Quick added observation -- if you try to build a Launch Edition right now it shows Late September for delivery. However it shows other cars that would arrive in July? So that seems odd/interesting. My last update from local space was around May or June they'd have a drivable demo, and deliveries shortly after (which matches July/August). So this all adds up... it's just odd to me that a magnesium Launch car would be LATER than a non launch hahaha

Now it says that the B&W system has active noice cancellation in the car. Have not seen that before. The standard audio is a 10 speaker, 300W system.

Also noted that the rear window is also acoustic glass with the launch edition/ Plus package. I’m hoping for a really quite car even with the 22“ wheels!

Only for the 2025 models,.. the 2024 models don't have these,.. 🤦‍♂️

I don't think there is anyone with a July date, here in The Netherlands the first customer cars are scheduled for the last week of August.

Yeah. Hard to get exact comparisons but I can get an iX similarly spec-ed at my local BMW dealer with $400 less down and $175 less a month. And I’m guessing there’s more cash on the hood to move them as they haven’t been selling quickly.

the bmw MSRP is nominally higher. So BMW financial must be able to make a lower interest rate or higher residual happen.

depending on the details, if buying the car out is a reasonable prospect the Polestar deal might be net better. But that’s a particular assumption here…

I just got this in Polestar's marketing email

I'm more plugged in than the average joe re anything Polestar and I heard absolutely nothing about Polestar and the Oscars (am assuming that's what they're referring to).

And first US deliveries in a few weeks??
I'm a day 1 P3 deposit holder and have heard nothing of this sort.... maybe they know I'm dithering on the P3 but I expect it's more they don't know how to communicate properly...

Polestar's communications department might flub this launch...

I received same email and got excited, but they must have a different definition of "weeks" . The earliest date in preconfiged inventory showing late July for me (dc space).

Still, July is not bad concerning the previous estimate of summer, but those probably are imports from China and I don't think the delivery number will be high. Right now only several show up in the preconfiged inventory.

Not sure when the SC factory can deliver.

@polerad -- Although I did not watch the Oscars, my sales person at the local space told me they got a lot of new deposits to their specific store/space during/after the Oscars. Meaning they saw an uptick in traffic from that commercial. Interesting info. Also, my P3 deposit still shows Q2 of this year, assume yours does as well? I'd assume the first deliveries will be coastal, nearest to the port that vehicles will arrive. But "a few weeks" doesn't seem right I think we're still 60+ days away. Let us know what you hear!

@julianm -- Seems possible. But the earliest delivery vehicles on the web are "Late July" and are launch cars wtih the plus pack, are they not? So that doesn't really seem to add up. If anything it is the "Pro Pack" that is missing from the earliest delivery cars, but that is a fairly new item to have itemized. So ... anyone's guess LOL

Good to know - hopefully just an issue of my particular feeds (I'm not plugged into the Oscars at all - AFAIK it was about how plastic dolls melting in the radiation of nuclear bombs led to Godzilla's origin story and the pillaging of Native American lands?)

Interestingly my app says "August" for delivery and has for the past few months. Guessing the US launch will be East to West?

Or they figured the lowest price specs will move first so are prioritizing the nonPlus cars? the Plus cars are only 1-2mo later, which is negligible for EV launches, especially one that's already ~2y late!

Non plus config doesn't make sense for a luxurious vehicle like this. That's just to make the "base price" as low as possible, a number game played by many manufacturers.

@polerad where are you located? I'm in Ohio-- and I had an early reservation, that I canceled. I placed a new order a few days ago when the launch edition price dropped (so a new/2nd reservation) and it shows April-June 2024 as my estimated delivery window. That said, I've had 3x Polestar 2 vehicles so maybe someone flagged me as special (or maybe its all just lies, like Elon provides; "Elon Time" is a thing haha)

Northern California.
I also have 2x P2's, one of which is the first to be delivered from my Space and the 2nd in N America overall. So I'd like to think if there was a loyalty bump of sorts I'd be included on that list?

Going to call tomorrow too,.. my current config in the 2025 model would be more expensive, but would love to get a proper comparison between the to model years.

The US site also shows difference specs then the EU site,.. the performance model on the US site is 0-100 in 4.5, on the EU site it's 4.7, nothing shocking and I don't really care about that, but I don't understand why they are different.

The Polestar 3 launch edition product guide states acoustic (privacy) glass...
It’s not explicitly mentioned for the rear window on the 2024. So pretty curious how different the 2025 model is from the 2024

So then is there under trunk space taken up by the compute modules or some such?
Or is it that they’re not bringing the foldable cargo divider to the Charleston plant and that’s where the Lidar cars will be built?

Poletar honors the price the moment you bought it, this can of course work two ways.
You did not buy a MY25 version bascially (although I doubt there will be any difference), you pre-ordered a special launch version so you have some benifits financially (unless you now don't want all the options).

1. I do expect the same rear window on the launch editions, it's not a big change, but since production only started about now it would be a bit strange to have a few thousand cars with a different rear window, including havingt to stock them for just those cars for replacement...
Yeah, with deliveries about a month apart between the launch models and the 2025 models that doesn't really make sense to have these differences.

3. This is really nice touch for Launch edition customers.
Not if you ordered the performance model ;)

4. It might be added to the launch editions as well, would make sense.. or you can have it added later of course.
It's not on the launch edition models that are in the inventory, but for me it doesn't really matter, on a midnight PS3 it would stand out too much.

I do like the seatbelts from the plus package with the yellow stripe, wonder if you can order them by part and have them installed afterwards on our launch editions...
Yeah they look cool, I might even prefer them over the yellow ones in the performance model.

Polestar itself replied to a question on their forum regarding the side windows over 6 months ago that this is:

"when first launched, Polestar 3 will come equipped with both the Pilot and Plus pack as standard, which includes privacy laminated acoustic glass. This initial package also features an IR windscreen and laminated acoustic lower rear windscreen."
