Whew, Allstate charges a lot to insure this car, even for a middle aged lady driver 😂. I couldn't add it self-serve on allstate.com, but stopping by my local office in person took care of it. Wired the money, now just waiting to finalize delivery time. This is the nail-biting phase...
'Just got a quote from Allstate and it was double what I got from MAPFRE.
'Waiting to wire the money. Talked to Manhattan Motors today. Life's more complicated for me because, apparently, I have to register the car first and get my Massachusetts plates in hand before they can deliver... so that means I need the insurance tied down... so that means I need proof of title... The bureaucracy here is going to add two weeks easy.
@polerad I'd love to hear what you think about the leather interior, specifically the seat comfort. Some reviewers have commented about bolster support I've noticed. If you are familiar with volvo seats, are the similar? The last question was more wishful than anything. Volvo seats are legit.
I’m coming from a Camry and am still in the honeymoon phase - so take this all with a chunk of salt. We did drive a leathered Volvo V40 for 14 years tho.
damn these seats make my tush comfy. And from what I recall similar to the V40 we had?
I do think the leather is more plush than the fabric option. There’s more give to it for sure.
re whether it works for shorter folks, my wife is 5’0-1” and I’m the same size as “Lil” Marco Rubio. We’re both very happy with it!

I think I'm still waiting for the final phone call from MM because in my finalization I added the tow hook, so I'm guessing my car will be at the port for an extra week.
Well, this was nice: just got email saying "In recognition of you and to show our appreciation, we are going to send you a $500 ChargePoint charging credit so you can enjoy your next road trip on Polestar. Once you take delivery of your Polestar 2, we will email your unique PIN to you and provide information for how to access your ChargePoint charging credit."

Yeah... well... It is what it is. I'll work through the process and then start a thread explaining the steps that it took me. Kind of a bummer, but there's a path here. One step at a time, eh?
Yeah ChargePoint is strange in how few fast chargers it has, so it’s going to be hard for me to use up this credit. It’s nice that ChargePoint partnered with a lot of municipalities around here — but those partnerships also mean it’s often free or super-cheap slow-charging. It’s not what I’d imagine using on a road trip.

Financing just approved and paperwork will be signed and the car delivered next week (to our house - I guess they aren't set up to work with local Volvo Dealers - we have two here).
FYI - We were going to do a trade-in but in speaking with Jeff, he said we would then also have to pay to ship the trade-in back to Manhattan...so we'll try to sell it ourselves or see what Carmax will give us for it.
I really was this close to going for the etron sportback. The lease deal I got from Audi was net cheaper than the one for the Polestar (by ~$2.5k/3 yrs); although the Polestar financing deal was net cheaper (assuming reasonable rate of depreciation) compared to the etron lease.
The Polestar just more matches what I want and I'm OK taking the relative risk of buying vs leasing.
I feel like the e-tron is a comfy luxury family hauler that can pass as a sporty speedster.
And the Polestar is a luxury sporty speedster that can pass as a comfy family hauler.
Each are better at the former than the latter, but can do the latter thing fine enough even if it may not come as easily.
The extended test drive I did really convinced me we could use the P*2 for the weekend family trip just fine.
This is probably the fanboi speaking but I also think the Audi is more generically nice/luxurious while the Polestar has a more unique/special aspect to its niceness/luxury. The etron interior could come from any of the Qx matryoshkas. The Polestar 2 is really its own thing.
The etron does have 2 center console cup holders tho....
Congrats on getting the car ! very jealous....as I mentioned elsewhere, for a variety of reasons my wife wanted to go with the Y, so we had put down $100 for a tentative order. It seems Tesla doesn't have their act together either. It said delivery in 6-8 weeks, and when I went on the website 2 days ago it shows we have a delivery appointment next week, at a time/date that we never agreed to. Not a big deal because we can change that, but where is the communication we were supposed to get from them? Even worse, in the payment section it shows us as purchasing/financing the car with a monthly payment of over $900. We had signed up with leasing terms, with a payment just over $600...Anyhow, I hope noone here has the issues that afflicted the European deliveries, and hope to be getting one in the future for myself so we can both be driving EVs

Yeah I don't understand it. Maybe it is a Yankees/Red Sox stick it to you thing? They are just shipping me the car, and I have to deal with registration on my own in my home state.
