It seems like our European brothers are being well supported by local Volvo dealers as best as they can. In the U.S. here, I haven't heard of much Volvo support even though our geographical distances to Polestar places could be vast. For example, I live in Columbus, OH and it's 570 miles to the Manhattan Polestar place - just a bit far to go for service. But we do have two Volvo dealerships in town. Does anyone have an idea how this will be covered here...?

I speculate that Polestar is running into difficulties because we have laws in the U.S. that protect dealers. I expect service to be in three levels: OTA updates, mobile truck with specialist, then pick up and service. They probably have to have a legally independent company that contracts with Volvo for service, or something like that.

So, yeah, I have these ideas, but, no, I don't really know.

My brother-in-law is very close (socially, not physically) to his Volvo dealer in eastern Tennessee, and is strongly considering a P2. In his conversations with the dealer, it sounds like Polestar has already begun talking to (and maybe training?) Volvo dealers about Polestar support. No official word yet, of course, but I take this on good authority.
