Was perfect… now connections all gone

Had the car 3-4 weeks now. 2000+ miles on it. All has been perfect with no connection issues.

Today, connection was fine. But google voice assistant has not worked for a week or so, so I did a home reset. Connections now all gone - data, WiFi, etc. but voice working now.

Polestar walked me through TCAM, which wouldn’t actually reset.

Any ideas ? 3 weeks ownership to go to a dealer for issues seems insane.

not sure what reset you did but my car went into a Volvo dealership last week as all three fobs stopped working and they did a "hard Reset" to cure it. When it came back i could not log in to my PS account in the car. Spoke to support and they told me to reset my LTE connection

In the centra screen, shut down the infotainment system (soz cant remember how i did this)

then hold down the front windscreen defroster button on the center console. after 15-30 seconds the red SOS button up by the front interior slights should start flashing (keep holding the button down)
The flashing should stop after about another 15 seconds. when the fan starts blowing (to defrost your from windscreen) stop pressing the button. It them took mine about 2 minutes to gain a signal. it went to 3G first then switched to LTE.

worked perfectly.

So this is the TCAM reset I tried. But the SOS never flashes. So the reset is not operational for some reason.

I've been out of LTE connection for 3 days. Tried reset of infotainment, then TCAM - which used to work - and now no more. I just finished chatting (through the app) with Polestar customer service and they said that if the TCAM won't reset - then they will have to schedule me in for a service appointment with my local Polestar space. I've seen other posts where this happens. Something about V1.7 not being installed correctly and only a service technician can fix this.

Same problem here. No connectivity for four days. Email support directed me to factory reset the car, then reset the infotainment, then reset the TCAM by holding the front defrost button. No flashing SOS, no reset, no dice. Called support this morning who told me I was doing button pushing wrong, that I need to push the defrost once (turning on the HVAC) then hold it down for 15 seconds. It worked!

That is normal, unfortunately. You will expect frequent services on PS2, until they figure something out. I have been doing it for a year so far. Guess what..... My car is in service again for the 5th time! If your car is still drivable, you are lucky. Mine was bricked 3 times..... Sorry for the bad news, but I would like to share the reality, rather than just blinded praises.

This is getting way beyond a joke now. Isn’t it time for Polestar to recognise this ongoing issue and do something about it? If they don’t it feels like there should be some sort of class action taken against them by the customers. Basic connectivity is a core feature of this car where most of its features require a stable data connection which has been unreliable for a lot of owners since the cars release.

Oh - this was not in any guides I found. Is this easy to do?
Dont have time to do a full guide yet but this is for tcam battery , you do it after unplug 12V battery under the hood

I've now experienced the full lose of internet and GPS for an extended period for like the 5th time. Car went back to the Service Center about a month ago and they did a full reset and it's be solid since then. Even OTA updated to 1.9 a couple weeks back but here i am once again with no connectivity and TCAM reset that used to work for me no longer works. Tried calling Polestar support and they said sorry nothing they can do if the TCAM reset isn't working so call you Service Center. Called them and couldn't even get anyone to answer my call so now I'm waiting on a call back. As much as i love the looks of the P2 and driving it and I'm beyond frustrated with this hugely unreliable connectivity that basically renders the car useless as a commuter vehicle with no routing, real-time traffic or even ability to access Spotify. Anyone have any luck fixing this PERMANENTLY? Otherwise anyone have luck making Polestar take your car back?

I’m on my third bork with the Polestar, though not for TCAM issues. They’ve had the car for about 10 days and going due to their awaiting a back ordered part. I’ve been in touch with a lemon law lawyer who seems to feel I have a case. If I get to total of 30 days loss of car, I’m pretty sure Polestar will take it back. Will update the sub if that happens.

FWIW I had my first TCAM issue the other day, and took it in to the dealer. It had been raining when it failed. Anyway, they did some kind of reset and apparently some sort of 'gateway' chip hadn't fully updated to latest firmware in the last OTA so they addressed that (said that could've been the cause).

However, I also noticed when I got home a thin streak on my windshield. At first I thought it was a scratch, but it turns out it was some kind of sealant (silicone maybe). Couldn't wipe it off, but eventually got rid of it with a razor. Anyway, this sorta makes me think that A) Someone was using a silicone gun near my car B) Possibly to seal up the antenna. Now, obviously it could've just been someone walking past with a silicone gun used for something else and I got caught by accident, but it seems more likely they used on my actual car. So perhaps the hypothesis that this is a moisture infiltration issue is true and they seal up the antenna when you take it in, but for some reason don't tell you about it (maybe to avoid PR issues with an official recall so close to stock market introduction)?

Anyway, might be worth taking it in and having the dealer look at it rather than do a bunch of manual resets. If they are indeed sealing up the antenna thing, that could perhaps fix the issue (we'll see!)
