I have the same red sign showing up also. I only noticed it today. No idea why

 

Must mean a new update is imminent.

 

I just checked mine and it's red as well, but there is no update available. Does anyone know why the icon turned red for sure?

 

My gut feeling says the update is currently being downloaded/prepared. I haven't checked mine but i had the same situation with my loaner P4 last month and after a week new version rolled out and ready to install.

 

After a Polestar software update, a red box with an exclamation mark indicates a critical system fault that affects the vehicle's safety or driveability It is not a notification for a new update, but rather a warning that the software installation failed or has led to a new error. As stated by Polestar. Which makes senses considering the follow on issues

 

Can you point me to where this is documented? I have no issues currently that I can tell...

 

Isn't this just a standard thing that when a security update is 180 days old (which should fit the timeframe, as like 4 days ago, 180 days ago was 5th of April.) it just shows up as a 'critical' thing? not knowing there isn't a later update available (at least for Polestar, perhaps there are later security updates for Android Automotive).

 

Got answer: Reason is Google Assistant security level needs to be updated. Will be fixed in next update.

Perhaps this type of "under the hood" indication should be muted from user or at least not use red color in symbol indication.
