I don't own a Polestar 2 but came accros this app:

Can you install it ?

In cars that provide Google Automotive Services directly on the car screen, it can still be convenient to use Android Auto from your phone. It may sometimes be easier to connect your phone and get quick access to your accounts and favorite apps, rather than taking the time to set up the car's built-in infotainment system. For example, you may want to use Android Auto in these situations:

• When you're driving a rental car.
• When you're driving a borrowed car, like one that belongs to a relative.
• When some of the apps you want to use are not yet available for the built-in system.
• When apps available in the built-in system are not as up-to-date as the apps on your phone.

The Android Auto Receiver app lets you have the familiar Android Auto experience in situations like these.

Bumping this to the front because it fits in with the recent AAOS conversation. Is there a way to put pressure on Google or Polestar to enable this for our car?

Here are the reasons Google gives for using this app on AAOS:

The last two bullets indicate that they understand that AAOS will have limitations and enabling Android Auto on AAOS would be useful!
