What does everyone think of the new Audi A6 e-tron? Overall I think the car looks good but I'm not a fan of this specific color.

it looks.... fine?
I'm guessing it's going to be substantially more expensive than the P4, probably on par with the P3. Question is what all comes for that extra cost. To me, 800V and faster charging doesn't really work. We would need Lucid Air level range/efficiency and charging to make me tempted

I like the front, I like the side, I hate the rear.

Super unpopular opinion, but I like their grille-in-grille language for their EVs. Good way to visually break up mass but also not just a blob of black plastic. Works better on the E-Tron GT, but that's not surprising considering the price difference. The door handles are a nice in-between of 'normal' and the new flush trend. I also like the black scallop on the sides as a way to hide the battery bulk. More elegant than the typical 6" of black cladding.

Of the Germans only Porsche's EV designs work for me, and even then the Macan EV looks off to me compared to the ICE which I think looks great.
Mercs look like melted/eroded soap bars
BMWs have either that massive grill/snout or a just the ho-hum generic prior BMW sedan
Audis are the same tired Audi form factor that's decades old to me and therefore blah. The A6 is no different.

Hard for me to get excited to drop whatever stupid amount of money they will want for them. At least BMW is eating it up front to make the leases competitive.

Polestar definitely has an opening to offer great looking and driving EVs to fill that gap for customers like me.
... if they can get software worked out and production ramp....

As far as design, my personal take is that Audi haven’t really solved the front end for EVs yet (same problem almost everyone has). It’s not unattractive, but less elegant than I’m used to from them. At any rate, despite some architecture differences this is still basically a Taycan-sized vehicle with more traditional sedan proportions and very low drag, so maybe that’s why it looks like a whale. I’m more looking forward to seeing what this group has in store for the smaller car platform being developed for the 718.

Kris Rifa had a comparison video of the A6 etron vs the P4 and put together these side-by-side charts:

Sorry. I'm just not seeing it, especially as the Audi seems like it will be 20-30k EUR/USD/GBP more expensive than the Polestar.
The Audi is frumpy looking, has worse rear passenger comfort, similar or even less cargo volume, and its platform's software issues are even worse than the P3/EX90. It seems to have better range/charging than the P4 - but that would save me like 20 min for the occasional long road trip I may do 2x/year - not a big deal. And I have no mechanism to utilize the higher top speed of the highest spec $100k version of the Audi.

I hope Audi plans to put a lot of cash on the hood for these cars. Else they seem only of use to the hardest core Audi fan boys.

I'm happy with the general look - my last two cars were an A4 and an A5, both of which I really liked. I came to Polestar because I wanted to go EV, but in say three years time when I'm looking to replace the Polestar I will be looking closely at the A4 EV which should have been on sale for a year or so by then.

But I wouldn't have one of these A6s - too big for me.
