As promised, here's how to add the ticket clip (or to remove it). Any work you do on your car is your responsibility!

This is best done with plastic body panel pulling tools.

Step 1, remove this side panel.

Step 2, remove this small piece of trim.

Step 3, remove the "IC airbag" trim panel. Behind that is an 8mm bolt you'll need to remove.

Step 4, gently press/pull the A-pillar trim away from the pillar, toward the passenger side. It is held in place by two clips. You can now see where the ticket holder will eventually clip in, BUT, you need to remove the entire A-pillar trim to clip into place.

Step 5, with the trim out, you can now easily clip the ticket holder into place. Make sure to press down firmly, so that it is fully seated.

Step 6, reverse order to put everything back together. Then enjoy your new ability to put whatever you want to show the world into that clip! 😝😝😝

Why on gods green earth is there an 8mm bolt behind this airbag thingy and a 7mm bolt behind the one on the C pillar?!

It's a curtain airbag that explodes and unrolls downward. The a-pillar trim is designed to flex open that direction, but not come blasting off of the pillar and become another thing to hit or pierce a passenger.

I understand, but what I mean is to get to the TCAM battery, you have to remove the trim at the C-pillar. For this, you remove the IC Airbag tag and there is a 7mm bolt behind it.

For the A trim, there is an 8mm bolt... why the difference?!

Oh, hahaha...sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying. :)

I don't know. The other option is that I grabbed the 7mm, when I thought I was grabbing the 8mm, but I am pretty sure it's 8mm.

Thanks, @nbvolks! I will cogitate on whether I would use the clip enough to buy one and install it. I used to use the one on my old Volvo every week for my airport parking ticket, but they now have an app and a frequent parker program so I don't use paper tickets any more. Still, I might decide I want it anyway. :)

Thanks for this. It came with my 23 and annoys my wife. She's tried to yank it off to no avail. Now we know why after see the pics. I ain't going thru all that trouble just to remove it

Our ‘98 V70T had this as well, RHD.

I once received a parking ticket ( not in the Polestar ) when , having placed my parking slip on the dashboard it must have blown off as I closed the door . The clip ( which was also on my XC90 ) prevents this happening . Given that it’s basically see through I just don’t get the problem

I have one on my 96 850R, wish I had one on my Polestar. I found it very handy.

In Texas, our registration/inspection sticker goes right where the clip is, so while I like the idea, the location is annoying.

I had one on my old Skoda, it's so useful. Will my MY23 have one when it arrives in a couple of weeks does anyone know?

Fingers crossed! It will be perfect for my building parking permit which helpfully is just a bit of cardboard!
