That might well be it. I've never taken my car through bits of motorway here where one lane enlarged to be two on Pilot Assist.

I wonder if they need to program it to keep to the right here in the UK or left in LHD countries.

Made the trip down south to the Beverly Hills Polestar place, test drove a MY24 configured almost like I want - Plus/Pilot, LRSM. Wrong color and upholstery, but that doesn't affect the drive.
Love the one-pedal driving - it's perfect. Love the composed ride, solid feel, sure handling. Punched it once and I definitely don't need the dual motor setup, one is enough, especially when it's in the back. The angle of the center console, and the position of the center screen is perfect. I didn't notice any problem with legroom, or with the center console hitting my leg. The thigh support with the plus pack is a bonus. I had worried about the glass roof, but didn't notice any issues on an 80F sunny day, driving around Beverly Hills. The range on a single charge is a huge plus. That's all the good-to-great.
For the not-as-good, I'm slightly shorter than average - 5'9" (175cm) and slender, and the cockpit seemed small, almost cramped. Loads of headroom, but the rest felt small. I also wish the steering wheel went about an inch closer to me, in the driving position.

It's now down to the Volvo XC40 (which I also tested) or the Polestar 2. The Polestar has a pretty big lead, because of the range.

that tight ”cockpit” is the reason we bought and love the car! 👍

I also looked at the XC40 - found it just a small unimpressive SUV - which coming from a Full SIze LR Defender was not what I wanted, 100% electric or not. The Polestar 2 spanks it in every way except visibility and ride height off the road IMHO

I also cross-shopped and test drove the XC40. I found it to be very nice, but driving the Polestar felt like an event. And it’s probably down to the cockpit shape, which is far more individualistic than the more generic, but still nice, XC40 interior. As a result it can be a polarising feature.
Add in the fact that I really didn’t want another SUV in the household and it was a done deal.

18 months after buying my P2, I got a C40 for my wife (not XC40). We love to tease each other about who has the nicer car. Truth is they're both awesome, but different. I find the P2 more fun and engaging to drive, the C40 more comfortable and civilized, slightly roomier.

So I think these things really come down to preference and priorities, my opinion is that you're not making a bad decision in either case.

I would take Steeeve's car. Just an awesome looking car, and a real head turner!

But as mentioned a few times - Nobody can decide what's best, or important for you and family.

For me, it mainly boiled down to two criteria: (1) Looks and (2) Uniqueness. I don't want to be seen in a commodity car.

The P2 is a great looking car (received many complements, so not just my opinion), and doesn't look like anything on the road, today.....and that includes Volvo.
