Electrify America-Plug and Share?

When you fast charge at Electrify America, does it recognize the Polestar 2 and start the charging process? The reason I asked is we have a VW ID. 4 as well. Now we have 2 EA charging accounts. I’m wondering if I have to go in the app each time and switch accounts each time before use.

So far the only car in the USA that supports the ISO 15118 standard “plug and charge” that I am aware of is the 2021+ Porsche Taycan Platform. Technically the same hardware -may- be present in the J1 Audi eTron GT but that is not clear yet. I’ve lurked both forums, and owned a ‘20 and ‘21 Taycan— the latter did work at EA for P’n’C but that was it. All other cars have required an app session or RFID card or credit card swipe, etc. (edit for error on years/fixed)

You don’t -have- to swap accounts if you don’t want to (with your Polestar) but the better question is, why bother? You get FREE charging if your PS2 is a ‘22 and you -should- be able to use that free charging on other cars (I’ve tested this on other platforms and works great; was able to charge my wife’s XC40 Recharge using my Taycan’s free, etc). I’d suggest consolidating to a single EA account either way, as two people -can- use 2x phones to log into same account if desired. Helps simplify your home experience.

The Mach-E doesn’t do Plug and Charge yet? Thought that was a big thing Ford was touting for its vehicles. Because my thinking is if the F-150 supports it coming out the gate, there will be huge incentive for the charging networks to support it.

Edit: Found a guide for enabling on Mach-E, which supposedly works with EA and Greenlots.

Edit 2: And Car and Driver testing the Mach-E at EA last December.
