I picked up my P3 today - 14 miles on the clock. The salesman said these two yellow symbols would go away after I drove a little bit…that “the sensors need to calibrate”. I gave him a shady look knowing what I know about this thread, but are these symbols in the picture what you all have on your screen that signify the water ingress issues?

Those are icons that show up for a myriad of software issues, only one of which is the water ingress thing. Try soft resetting the car. If that doesn’t work then hard reset it.

The water ingress issue sounds like it has a total failure of those sensors but more importantly, the front of the car - the smartzone cluster is visibly affected.

Thank you 🙏🏽 I thought about hard-resetting but it seems that can sometimes unpair keys etc so I’m going to leave it overnight and see if it resolves itself by morning. Stay tuned 😂😵‍💫

Not necessarily true btw, I had no visible damage to my front sensor smartzone cluster.

Only upon inspection of the bumper after the software update failed to take hold did they realise.

First make sure all of you permissions are correct in the car settings area of the middle screen. Permissions that interact with Google and are not correct mess up function strangely since the software for the car is android based. Many of my problems, key fob not working, Google assist not working were due to permissions problems where apps were not allowed to work with Google assist. Also if your digital key card can not be loaded make sure the screen behind the steering wheel is on by putting car in drive and than pushing P to park prior to starting digital key app.

Try soft resetting first. I find that solves most issues and only do a hard reset as a distant secondary option. When hard resetting. I place the keycard on the wireless charging pad while I initiate the hard reset.
Soft reset cleared the errors on screen 🙏🏽 But my pilot assist wasn’t working this whole time still. Just figured out switching profiles (guest > back to owner) fixes that.

I’m wondering the same thing. All VINs posted have “R” in the 10th positioning, denoting model year 2024.
Yooo good observation. Does anyone affected by this water damage have an “S” instead of an “R” in that tenth spot before the “B” in their VIN? Mine is a launch edition and was built in that same factory, but curious if mine is resolved as a 2025 “S” model 👀

The profile switching issue in the P3 is strange because it affects both relatively minor systems, like seat memory, CarPlay, and Google Assistant, as well as critical systems like ADAS. The fact that something like switching profiles can impact both the infotainment system and a major driving assistance system makes it confusing.

Switching profiles seems to reset certain systems, which can sometimes resolve issues like seat memory or even ADAS faults. When profile switching doesn’t help, a hard reset usually clears things up. While we can’t be certain without access to the code, this points to a deeper software issue with how profiles sync and interact across different subsystems. On one hand it may mean the bugs will be more difficult to stamp out. But it is also plausible that fixing a more central and connected set of bugs will actually fix quite a few seemingly unrelated systems.

Mine is an S.

2024 Launch Edition. I thought it was a 2024 launch edition, but the app seems to tell me its a 2025.

Issues with sensor alerts aren't fully tied to the water ingress issue - the P3 has had loads of issues in general with warnings about failures on sensors etc. and it was/is a software issue.

That being said, the only consistent light I had is the one displayed in yellow on the bottom left - that never seemed to go away and could be linked? But not really sure - its hard to diagnose when the car is known issues for false flagging sensor warnings.

Amazing, so I've had P* contact the other day regarding a hire car that they would try and sort.

Great, they've offered a polestar 4 via LCH - not like for like with a 3 but okay whatever...

But yeah the excess is £1000 in the event of damage or I can pay £15 a day to have it lowered to £50 excess....

What are they smoking?

I’ve had a P4 for three months with LCH whilst they replace my P3. New one is coming next Friday.
It’s definitely nowhere near the quality of a P3 and the excess charge is just insulting.
