How long after I order the performance upgrade (HP upgrade) is it available for download?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I searched the forum and couldn’t find an answer.

I just purchased the performance upgrade to get the extra HP. How long did it take for you guys to see the download upgrade on your cars?

edit: For anyone wondering mine took about 4-6 days. Ordered Friday and got it the next week. Polestar uploads it manually so I don’t count the weekends.

If you scour the "Performance Upgrade" threads, the gory details are all there spread over multiple threads.

If memory serves me (and it is generally does not), it took 2-3 days from purchase to notice the download. Once the OTA update was finished, it seemed to be another day or two before the Performance App changed to show 0-60 time, and the Polestar App showed the upgrade under "Specifications."

It all seemed to take a very long time. My unsolicited advice is "be patient."

Patience it is then! Good to know we are all in the same boat though.

I ordered it earlier this month and it took about one week for the OTA update to appear. Then, after I installed it, it took two full days for the change to show up in my phone app, the car launch app, and my online account.

Sharing my experience: I've successfully received OTA's at least 3 times prior. Last update was P2.2 and I had been stuck there for a long time. I was starting to wonder if my TCAM had decided to ignore the cloud. Meanwhile, I decided I'd order the performance software on Jan 12. On the 16th, I received a software update notification. It failed to install a couple of times but quite possibly due to my impatience, unlocking the car and checking on it. The error message was that I needed at least 40% battery to install but I was at 56%. I tried charging but it wouldn't let me, never completing the handshake. Finally left it overnight (unplugged) and woke up on the 17th to P2.4 with a nice green checkmark indicating successful install! But no update to the Performance App nor any other indication that the performance software loaded. Today my online account showed the power upgrade and so I went to check the car for any new updates - nothing. I decided to uninstall and re-install the Performance App. Voila... 0-60 timer activated.

Initial driving impressions... brings back memories of old muscle car days of second gear burnouts! :devilish: Geezus... cruising at 60-70km/h and punching the throttle will invoke front tire spin! I'm running snows and it's currently 6C outside with ever so slightly damp road surfaces. Punching it from 80-90km/h feels like a slingshot. This is most definitely money well spent! Can't wait to get the summers back on for some real fun.

Thought it had it last night on day #13 but nope, it was OS 2.6 ! Got tired of waiting and called.. They can tell you when it landed... in my case they said 430AM today, BUT it can take 24-48h after that to show up... Jesus this process could be improved a little. Anyway call them if you want to know, they know..

I ordered last Thursday . Had an OTA update message on Tuesday evening, downloaded it overnight and yes it was there on Wednesday morning. Took it out for a spin and the launch is unbelievably good ! V happy !
I also got my upgrade on Tuesday and today it’s finally showing up in the phone app. It’s does seem a little more responsive to the pedal but it’s hard to tell. Haven’t had a chance to see 59-70mph performance.

FINALLY... Took 15 days + a reboot for it to show..
Immediately ripped a 4.2s 0-60 on an empty road. You can tell the car is very torque limited at low speeds, not a hint of tire spin and less acceleration until 20mph. Don;t know if they did that to protect occupants necks or the car components, my guess is the car. I am therefore not sure better tires would help a lot. I did not notice the improved throttle mapping people talked about (it felt good before and after to me), but there is definitely more shove to pass someone 50-80. The app on the phone upgraded immediately too but it doesn't show the new power #s very well, it's an add on text bubble that is truncated ;-) Anyway, worth the money for sure. Still not a huge fan of the delivery model - pay now get it now, or charge the card when you push it, if you're gonna take that long.

Now I feel the car is worthy of its prancing moose sticker ;-) (yes it's a moose, Volvo joke, not a FErrari emblem)

Congrats on the upgrade! As I mentioned previously, just the remapping of the throttle makes it worth the upgrade. I think the reason it takes time is they have to process it, add it to your VIN so it gets added to your profile. The certificate that is issued looks like they have to report it to the government

I can definitely see potential for another upgrade... Honestly for an AWD car, the acceleration is lazy 0-20 or so vs what a Tesla or other will do...It's clearly a programming limitation. They could totally give it a little more torque early on and just barely spin the wheels a tad - it feels GREAT 20-60 and 50-80, but feels overprotective 0-20. It may be too harsh for the car if done repeatedly, possibly, to maintain the warranty... Or they are saving that for a SPORT model only, which would make sense marketing wise. Not complaining, I very much appreciate the bump for $1200 !
What's nuts is how fast you get used to the bump in power. 2 days of excitement and it's back to normal..
