It's the reason many people buy this car...and scoff at the idea of a Tesla. A car is still primarily an emotional purchase. If the design doesn't speak to you, you aren't likely to buy it. If you wanted an EV 10 years ago Tesla was your only option. Today that emotional component is alive and well for EVs, and the P2 is at the front of the pack.

For sure, I was willing to go electric with the new company car, but there were only 2 I was really considering: The Polestar 2 and the XC40 P8. The XC40 was pretty quickly shot down because of range, mainly because the drag coefficient is just terrible, so given the many highway miles I do on any given commute, that range would dwindle quickly based on the real life tests I've seen. But I have loved the XC40 since they unveiled it.

I've never considered a tesla because they are fugly. And the other ones (Mach-E, EV6, Ioniq) also don't work for me, or with decent to good design (Taycan, E-tron) are way outside my price range. Although when it comes to interior, no cars come close to the Volvo, and now Polestar, design in my opinion.
