I recently got my Ebike serviced and the gave me a print out of the battery life. But when i had my P2 serviced MY22 (10x more expensive than my Canondale) last week...i got no battery health check. Should i be worried. Are the hiding something???

Mine stays either at 210 or 220 at 90% charge as it has done for the past 3yrs 2mths at around 20deg C. So figure it must still be pretty good.
Only had the 2yrs Service so far but BATTERY health check was NOT carried out as part of the schedule.

if what you meant is the the degradation % report:
  1. it is not part of the scheduled service
  2. the test is just discharging to a certain% and charge it back up to see kWh added (I was told 0-100), so:
    1. it takes many hours
    2. and it's not particularly good for the battery to go thought that stress unless you suspect something is wrong or REALLY wants to see a "certified" degradation %
  3. and it cost money (I was quoted ~CA$100 when I checked with the local dealership

Exactly. It's not rocket science and anyone could do such a test at home. But what is the point? What are you going to do with the result? The only time it could possibly matter is if the SoH gets below the threshold for a warranty replacement but by then I'm pretty sure the reduced range would have already been noticed.

How many owners of ICE vehicles have the BHP of their engines tested when it goes in for a service? Even though it's well known that it reduces over time as the engine gradually wears out.

There is enough nonsense out there about EVs already so let's keep a sense of perspective and not add to anything else to the list of "EV anxieties".

I wonder if those of us seeing the numbers around 100% from Orbit are because they don’t know about the new larger battery in the 2024 cars and are comparing it to the 75 kWh from the old battery rather than the 79 kWh in the new ones?
