Really?

I remember reading they turn off at a certain speed.I just checked that the fog light that turns on when turning or both when going in reverse now stays on permanently when the normal headlights are turned on. The solution to turn them off is to disconnect that 'turn signal' function in the tablet. Has anyone else experienced this since we installed OTA 3.4.4?
Personally I doubt they will ever fix the reversing camera issue with the hardware in the early P2’s. It really does struggle especially at startup which is a critical time for the camera systems to work immediately.I'm guessing that Polestar has halted the 3.4.4 update since there was a recall for the rear camera freezing up in North America. It would make sense (to me anyway) to stop OTA updates until they have a fix for the rear camera. Unfortunately neither Polestar nor Volvo are very good at communications when it comes to SW updates, both OTA and those that can be only performed at the dealer. I'd think it wouldn't be very difficult to have a status page on their respective websites with SW versions, status, etc.
UPDATE: In the US, Volvo initially came out with 3.5.14 to address the camera recall, when users reported failures after the update they have since come out with 3.5.24, which is now available at dealers and is said to be available as OTA in 3 weeks (probably assumes that 3.5.24 will really address the rear camera issues).
I am also still waiting on mine - UKI am still waiting on the update, I am in the UK….3.4.4 like probably everyone here in Europe![]()
I believe replacing the camera is a critical step for solving the issue with your rear camera. The new software may also contribute to the new performance, as well. For those complaining about the rear camera: my car has had the 3.4.4 software for quite a while. Last week, the car was in for service to have the rear camera replaced. During the service, a new camera software update was also installed. Now the camera works immediately when starting to drive, just as it should. So, after the release of the latest 3.4.4 software, at least one fix has been made that affects the camera's functionality.
Of course, replacing the camera doesn't solve the issue that people in the U.S. seem to be complaining aboutI believe replacing the camera is a critical step for solving the issue with your rear camera. The new software may also contribute to the new performance, as well.
Some people are probably still waiting for the latest update in other parts of Europe as well. For some reason, certain cars skip the update, but as far as I know, it has been widely rolled out in the UK too?I am also still waiting on mine - UK
That’s almost certainly not the case For 99% of the folks. Perhaps the WAM module but not the cameras. But even then the symptoms all smell of bad software.I believe replacing the camera is a critical step for solving the issue with your rear camera. I have a ‘23 model P2, and I never had a problem with my backup camera (and I know others with no issues). My comment was not related to the design or performance of the camera, but the quality control. Don’t be surprised if those who now have problems with their camera, will continue to have it after the new recall “fix”.Of course, replacing the camera doesn't solve the issue that people in the U.S. seem to be complaining aboutMy camera was replaced due to moisture that had gotten inside, and it's exactly the same model with the same part number as the original one. In my opinion, the camera has worked well enough from the very beginning. So it's not a new version of the camera. According to the service manager, the update is new and was specifically made to improve the camera's performance.

What I have read is that they do not turn on in curves above a certain speed, but now both are on when the correct operation is not that.I remember reading they turn off at a certain speed.
I'm certainly not surprised, and I'm also not surprised that the biggest problems will continue to be with cars from your fellow countrymen.I have a ‘23 model P2, and I never had a problem with my backup camera (and I know others with no issues). You must have an explanation as to why the same software works fine for some and crap for others ……. and if it’s the WAM module, again it works for some but not all (quality control?).That’s almost certainly not the case For 99% of the folks. I’ve been thru this to much on this forum to explain things again so I’m just going to tell you to use search. Also, although the software is the same, the usage is not the same nor are everyone’s conditions identical. Also not everyone has the same config (for example you don’t have the Plus pack.)You must have an explanation as to why the same software works fine for some and crap for others ……. and if it’s the WAM module, again it works for some but not all (quality control?).
Done the first half of a 1200km round trip. Tested ACC with OPD Off and Low (don’t think Standard would make a difference). Same as my previous experience. Set to Off, ACC goes over set speed 3-4 km/h. Set to Low, it didn’t exceed the set speed. This is through mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire, and it’s my 21st trip on this road since 29 October when I got the car. I know where the inclines are to test.nope, it overshoots 4 kmh top on both settings.
the improved behaviour is in braking "smoothness" and stop lights activation, which prevents me being cursed by everybody behind me...
that's exactly what my car does.
4 kmh, over the set speed, then it brakes decidedly.
🤷♂️Same as my previous experience. Set to Off, ACC goes over set speed 3-4 km/h. Set to Low, it didn’t exceed the set speed.
I'm wondering if it's related to the counterfeit chip issue that took off after covid. The module manufacturer could have gotten a bad batch of chips (knowingly or not), and those ended up distributed throughout a bunch of cars over time.🤷♂️
i can't but conclude that same software behaves differently on different cars.
it seems the same for the dreaded camera not available issue, that i had maybe three times in 18 months and other seems to have almost constantly.
maybe there are differences in underlying electronic components that end up in different behaviours, and this could also explain the difficulties Polestar have in addressing some issue.
